My first pics after the major 29 April update. To test the game and the new engine, I chose my (still unofficial) save from The Cho Brothers (Inzoi version), featuring Candice Barnard’s. As some of my readers may already know, Candice is the ex-wife of Tyron, the eldest of the Cho Brothers. The last we saw of her was the day she broke up with Jasper Goth, the (married) guy who caused her divorce from Tyron. If you’re curious about Candice’s last appearance in The Sims 3, you can click here.

Here is Candice, leaving the Dowon Fire Station, where she works now. She doesn’t look happy, that much is clear. But, why? We’ll find out shortly. For now, all we know is she moved to Dowon to be close to her daughter Brandi, who recently moved there too with her father Tyron and his girlfriend, Kayla.

Candice might be feeling down because she misses Hidden Springs, the local fire station, and, of course, Jasper. She reportedly broke up with him years ago, but rumors say they kept seeing each other right up until the day Candice left Hidden Springs. True or false? We’ll find out later. One thing is for sure: Jasper has never left his wife Madeleine, and he probably never will. And he sure as hell won’t move to Dowon either. Thus, Candice’s grief.

Now, if you’ll allow me, I’m going to break the fourth wall here to mention one thing I really liked about this update (despite the usual bugs) that is how sharp the clothing textures look. My game had never looked as good as it does in this photo. Although I admit, the graphics looked much better in game than in the photo, something I’ll never understand. Is it the camera? Is it my computer? Who knows.

Anyways, back to the story: Candice is sad because she misses her old life, but most of all she misses that scamp, Jasper. On the bright side, she’ll now be close to Brandi, though she’ll also be near Tyron… and Kayla, which is a bit stressful for her. So she’ll try to stay away from them as best she can, waiting for the chance to see Brandi and, if possible, convince Tyron to let her stay with her for a few days.

First day on her job, Candice arrived early, and since she was starving (for technical reasons it would take too long to explain, lol), she had a slice of cake before starting with her duties. Though she’s not in the best of moods, she has to admit that the Hidden Springs fire station has nothing on the one in Dowon.

Doing some desk work, since apparently there isn’t much action happening today.

Socializing a bit during recess. The guys here are nice, but none of them can hold a candle to her beloved Jasper.

Jasper… she wishes she could stop thinking about him. She can’t even shake off her melancholy at work, and to make matters worse, she got caught in the rain on her way out of the house and has been feeling a little lethargic. She sure hopes it’s not a cold.

Once she’s home, a nice bath and some self-care help her feel better.

First meal at her new home. Thanks @Sarsoi for this beautiful rendition of Hangyeol House! By the way, there’s a small lighting issue here (with the game, not the house of course). You can see it on Candice’s face. It looks like a game bug.

Candice is washing the dishes; she looks a little more relaxed now.

Another close-up to see the details of the blouse and the necklace. Again, I see much sharper visuals. It might not be perfect for some, but given the graphics on my laptop, it was a pleasant surprise to see some improvement. Mind you, it looks way better in game than in this photo, lol. But check out the edges of the neckline and the sleeves, they don’t look blurry or smudged.

Candice is definitely happy at her new home. It’s so beautiful and comfortable that it has helped her relax and, above all, feel safer, even though she hasn’t explored a quarter of the city yet.

Another close-up of Candice. I’m still struggling with the contours of her face, because just like in The Sims 4, zois don’t look the same in the game as they do in CAZ, which makes it hard to edit them to my liking. Also, in The Sims 3, Candice always wears her hair tied back, but I haven’t found the right style for her yet, so for now, although it’s unusual for her, she’ll be wearing her hair down. This one was the closest to how she’d look, considering her original ponytail is quite short.

And… it’s time to do the laundry.

All done. The clothes are clean and smell great. Now it’s time to get some sleep, cause tomorrow she’s going to Tyron’s house to try to see Brandi before she leaves for school. She’s so nervous, she really hopes Kayla isn’t around.

The next day, outside Tyron’s house, saying goodbye to Brandi. Thankfully, Tyron and Kayla stayed inside. Brandi was wearing winter clothes in the middle of summer and was sweltering. I took care of that, so in the next photo she’s already wearing her summer outfit.

Also, yes, you guessed right, in The Sims 3 Brandi is a toddler, but in Inzoi she’s already a child. I didn’t want to skip so many years, but I had no choice since you couldn’t create toddlers in CAZ at that time. In fact, I think you still can’t, lol, so both she and Terence’s son, Davy, are already children in this edition of The Cho Brothers.

According to my story, Brandi doesn’t know her mom well, since she saw her only a few times during her infancy, so she hardly remembers her. Hopefully now that Candice is finally living nearby, they can build a real mother-daughter relationship.
It hasn’t really been that long. Let’s say the last time we saw Brandi, she was what, three years old? Now she’s maybe six or seven, cause she’s starting elementary school. So three or four years have passed, five at most. I don’t really know what years are considered “child” in InZOI.

Anyway, that’s all for now about Candice. I decided to play with her to test out the update for a couple of reasons. First, her look didn’t require any mods. Two, I wanted to try out the Firefighter career in InZOI and she was my only firefighter (besides Jasper of course). I’d also like to try out the Architect career with Kayla, since she had a similar career in The Sims 3.
Btw, that’s Tyron’s house in the background. We’ll see him in a follow-up post to complement this one, though those other photos were taken before the April update, (I created Tyron and his family in March for the new engine test), so the graphic in those may not look as good as these.
Well, that’s all for now. See you soon with more, just stay tuned!
