Martin and Kaitlyn spending quality time together before he leaves for college.

At the time, Kaitlyn wasn’t working because there was nothing related to her career in Bliss Bay. But she spent her days practicing singing and, while she was at it, socializing in the park.

Hanging out, or rather, breaking a few hearts as usual.

True, she and Martin have an agreement and are in an open relationship, but only because she pushed for it. Martin might not be too thrilled to learn she’s actually spending time with other guys while he’s away, when he’s been faithful so far.

The boys aren’t the only thing that matters to Kaitlyn; she also adores the animals that roam the park. Whenever she sees one, she stops to pet them or feed them treats. (By the way, I hope we’ll have pets at InZOI soon!)

Late afternoon, Marty is on his way home. He doesn’t look happy. That’s because he heard through the grapevine that Kaitlyn was spotted in the park hanging out with another guy.

It’s been a while since he got home, and still no sign of Kaitlyn. Where could she be? Is she still at the park? Is she with that guy she met? Should he go look for her? Nah, that would be like breaking their deal. He has to hold out, but it’s so tough! Just imagining her with someone else is giving him a headache.

Luckily for Martin, she isn’t with anyone else; she just stopped on the street to do some graffiti, one of her favorite hobbies.

Looking at her finished work. She doesn’t really know why she wrote this. It was just the first thing that came to her mind.

“Love is the answer.” Is it? Did she write this because she’s falling in love with Martin? It’s a wonderful feeling, yet quite inconvenient for her career and her future.

Martin is still waiting at home; now he’s not just worried, but downright upset. Where on earth has Kaitlyn gone?

Well, she decided to spend a little more time alone to think things over. She came to an undeniable conclusion: she’s definitely in love with Martin. Not good!

When she got home, Martin wasn’t there; he said he’d gone for a walk. When he came back, he said he was tired and went to bed without even giving her a goodnight kiss. Kaitlyn lost her sleep and stayed up listening to music until very late. She’s really worried; she doesn’t want to lose Martin, but she doesn’t want to give up on her dreams either.

The next day, they went out for breakfast together, just as they had already planned. Martin still looked upset. Kaitlyn doesn’t want things to stay this way.

That evening, at home, she offered him a drink and explained nothing happened with that guy at the park, or anybody else. That reassured Martin to some extent, but there was still this other stuff…
Martin: I don’t mind if you date other guys. I mean, I don’t love it, but that was our deal.
Kaitlyn: Martin. I’m not dating other guys. They’re just friends, nothing more.

Martin: Okay, but what about the “set the mood” part? You don’t look happy, and I feel bad about that. We might have a problem, even if you don’t want to admit it. Maybe we should go to therapy or something.
Kaitlyn: Of course not, Mart, forget about that, it’s nothing. I’ve just been a little stressed, that’s all. It’ll work itself out, you’ll see.

Things are back to normal for Martin and Kaitlyn. They seem as much in love as ever.

But in the back of Martin’s mind, the problem is still there, and he doesn’t think it will solve itself. Sooner or later, Kaitlyn’s discontent will affect their relationship. There must be a solution, but which one? Maybe moving to Dowon is the answer? Martin would have to leave Bliss Bay University and start over there. It would be a step backward for him, but it would be worth it just to see Kait happy.

(Note: This “set the mood” issue (Kaitlyn being sad or annoyed after it), At first I thought it was a bug, but later I discovered it wasn’t. As their story unfolds, we’ll find out why. It’s just this game is too smart and realistic! 😉)
