Trouble in Paradise

Before heading to the prom, Zeke spent some time browsing the internet to relax a bit, since the atmosphere at home isn’t quite normal. His parents argued again, probably because of something his mom read in one of those celebrity gossip magazines.

Why does she read that stuff? Does she actually enjoy suffering?
Zoe: Oh my God, what? This has to be a joke. It might be just a rumor. I won’t believe it until I’ve confirmed it.

After saying goodbye to Zeke and wishing him luck at his prom, Zoe sits down at the computer to look up the news… And there it is. It wasn’t a rumor.
Zoe: Oh, my God, it’s true. Allan and that young guy Kaden Smith. I can’t believe it. First Fabian and now this?

Zoe doesn’t know it, but Allan himself had read the news about he and Kaden before she did. His new, secret relationship has been finally exposed thanks to the paparazzi. She’s on the terrace right now doing her business bookkeeping. She seems calm, but that’s just the calm before the storm.

As soon as Zoe confirmed that Zeke was away and safe at the prom, she called Allan into the living room.
Zoe: So, Kaden Schmidt. Seriously, Al? A nepo baby?
Allan: He’s nothing like that.
Zoe: No? His father owns half of Bliss Bay; he’s a very powerful and respected businessman. What do you think he’ll say when he finds out about this?
Allan: Well, Kade is an adult, he doesn’t need his father’s approval, does he?

Zoe: That’s true. But you’re an adult too, so watch your behavior or you’ll have to move out; I won’t ask you twice. One more slip-up and you’re out. Good night, Al. That was it. Typical Zoe, when she gets mad, she issues an ultimatum and cuts off all communication. But deep down, she’s right. Allan can’t afford to get caught up in a scandal, not in Bliss Bay, and not with Zeke at home.

While he thinks what to do next, he stares at the bottles in the wine cupboard. A drink would be just perfect right now, but drinking is another thing he cannot afford to do anymore. Yeah, life in Bliss Bay is getting boring very quickly. Allan is starting to feel forgotten. He needs to do something with his life soon. If only he could get his acting career back on track!
