Let’s fast-forward to the present day. Crystal has just gone from being a newborn to a toddler. The situation between Bomi and Rowan hasn’t changed much. He continued seeing Penelope, though less often because he knows Bomi is onto him.

Ever since Crystal was born, he has tried to be there for both of them, so he wouldn’t miss any of Crystal’s important moments.

That has put Bomi’s mind at ease a little, but not completely. The only thing that would truly put her mind at ease would be for Rowan to break up with Penelope for good, and that hasn’t happened yet. Every day he promises he’ll do it, but he always ends up putting it off.

And of course, he keeps seeing Penelope after work. Bomi can’t let that keep happening, so she’s come up with an idea…

That night, after tucking Crystal in, and knowing that Rowan would try to sneak out to see Penelope, she began to put her plan into action…

Bomi: Row, I have something to tell you.
Rowan: Yeah, what is it?
Bomi: I got a job interview at Neo Chemi.
Rowan: Wow, really?
Bomi: Yeah. If I get the job, not only will we have extra money, but we’ll be working right next to each other and can commute to and from work together. Isn’t that great?
Rowan: Of course, that’s… wonderful.

It is. Except that Rowan won’t be able to sneak over to Penelope’s house after work anymore. Now it’ll be much harder to find an excuse to leave the house. Bomi really is smart.

The next day, Bomi went to her job interview with Rowan’s boss, Mr. Adams. And she got the job without any trouble!

When he told Rowan the news, he couldn’t help but be happy because they’d really appreciate the extra money. So they celebrated together by firing the money gun. 😄

Rowan: Congrats, honey. I never doubted you’d get the job.
Bomi: Are you really happy with this, Rowie?
Rowan: Sure, we could definitely use the extra money. Maybe this way we can move to a bigger place soon.
Hearing Rowan talk about their future together made Bomi’s day even better.

Another day, it’s Rowan’s last one working alone; starting tomorrow, Bomi will be working here too.

Maybe he should go see Penelope today? No, it’s better to wait. He doesn’t want to ruin Bomi’s last free night.

The rest of his workday, he was a worried about how angry Penelope would be that he’d stood her up.

But he made some progress and discoveries while mixing the compounds.

His excellent performance earned him praise from Mr. Adams.

Dylan: I know your wife is starting work with us tomorrow. If she’s as dedicated as you are, this place is going to take off.
Rowan: Bomi is much more dedicated than I am, Mr. Adams. You won’t have any complaints about her, I can assure you.

Yeah, Bomi is dedicated and very responsible. She’ll surely replace him in Mr. Adams’s favor very soon.

Rowan continues with his workday, performing better than ever. His boss’s words really motivated him.

To top it all off, he was the one who led the meeting in the conference room. It was brilliant.

And it’s over, time to go home. Rowan had every intention of spending the night with Bomi, but at the last minute he changed his mind. Since starting tomorrow, he won’t be able to slip away after work, he decided he’ll go see Penelope.
Rowan: It’ll be the last time, I promise.
Yeah, right.

MEANWHILE, AT HOME…

Bomi: (Trying to be as sweet as possible) Crystal, this is my last warning: don’t rummage through the trash can. We don’t rummage through trash cans in this house.

Bomi: If you want to play, use your toys. You have plenty of them, sweetie.

Bomi certainly understood, but still… what is so wrong with rummaging through the trash can?

What Crystal doesn’t know is how hard it is for her mother to keep her cool, given her anger seeing that it’s almost 10 pm and Rowan still hasn’t shown up.

Finally, around 12 am…
Bomi: Sorry, some overtime came up and…
Bomi: Save it, Row.

Rowan didn’t dare say anything else. Most of dinner proceeded in silence until…

Bomi: You went to see her, didn’t you?
Rowan: Bomi…
Bomi: Did you or didn’t you?
Rowan: Yes, but that was the last time.
Bomi: No, it wasn’t. Because tomorrow after work you’re going there again, and you’ll break up with her for good, or there will be consequences. I mean it, Row.

Bomi: Break up with her tomorrow, or don’t bother to come home cause we won’t be here for you.

Rowan knows Bomi means business when she says they won’t be there for him. But losing her and Crystal is something he can’t afford, so…

Bomi: Well, Cryssie, it’s time for bed, honey. Come on, say goodbye to Daddy.

Say “goodbye”, not “good night”? That doesn’t sound right. Rowan will definitely have to clean up his act or “say goodbye” to his newly formed family. Will he have the courage this time, or will he mess it up again?

(To be continued)
