Episode 21: A Romance is Born
Weeks later, and days before finishing the first trimester, Juliette gave Robin the good news:
“That’s it, I broke up with Gilon”.
“You’re serious?”
“Yes, I explained to him all and thankfully, he understood”.
There wasn’t any obstacle in their way now, so the romance started.
Robin proposed her to go steady, Juliette of course said yes. They were practically engaged!
One thing led to another and by the end of the trimester they were involved in a steamy and intense relationship.
Robin was so happy. He had finally won Juliette’s love! Now he just needed to graduate, propose to her and get married to accomplish his mission: to start his own legacy to secure his descendants, currently nonexistent in his Future life. But, for some unspecified reason, he considered unnecessary to communicate these plans to Juliette…
Episode 22: Robin’s Secret
Robin and Juliette were enjoying the cool autumn evening outside the dorm when…
“No offense but Crane is a funny last name, don’t you think?”, Juliette teased.
“No offense at all, but – that’s not really my last name”.
“It’s not? What is it then?
“Crane was the name of the Robo-Nanny that raised me”.
“You were raised by a Robo-Nanny?
“Yeah. Crane was the closest thing to a father that I ever knew.
What happened to your parents?
“My father died before I was born, my mother passed away when I was like three years old or so”.
“Oh, Robin, please forgive me, I shouldn’t have asked”.
“It’s fine, don’t worry. I didn’t really get to know them”.
“So, what is your real last name?”
“I don’t know, Crane wouldn’t tell me”.
“Why?”
“That is one of the many things I have yet to find out.
“Where is he now?”
“No idea, he disappeared one night, shortly after I turned five years old. I was taken to the Community Living Center, and I lived there until I finished high school and was able to get a job.”
“Do you know how your parents died?”
“No, but even if I knew, I’m not allowed to reveal events from the Future that could modify or affect the Past… I mean, the Present.
“Even if by revealing them you could save your parents’ life?”
“Even so. It sucks, I know, but I must follow the rules, or I’ll lose mi permission to time travel using the Portal”.
“Can’t you reveal at least a bit of what awaits the humanity in 2054?”
“No, but you would be able to see it for yourself, if you’d come to the Future with me”.
“I’ve been to the Future, Robin, I lived there with my family. It wasn’t a big deal, in fact, it was kind of boring”.
“How far in time did you travel?”
“2019?”
“Oh-I see”.
“…”
“¿Juliette?”
“Yes?”
“You’re not leaving me after what I just told you, are you?”
“Robin, what are you saying? Why would I leave you? For what reason?”
“For being the son of a robot, for not even having a real last name?”
“Of course I’m not leaving you for that, silly. If anything, I love you even more now.”
Episode 23. Juliette’s Promise
“I’m sorry that you had to go through such a difficult childhood”.
“I tell you I’m gonna be fine, but – do you understand now why I dream of having my own family, a wife and lots of children?”
“I understand, but we’re gonna wait, aren’t we? First, we have to do something with our lives and our careers, we have to succeed and become renowned scientists, don’t we, Robin?
Robin gasped.
“Yes, yes of course”.
“Robin, am I with you in the Future?
“Well, you were not with me the day I left, but I suppose that will change soon”.
“Do you think so? Won’t I be too old for you or dead already when you go back there?”
“Nah, you’ll be just fine”.
“How do you know?”.
“I can’t tell you. Traveler’s rules, remember? But I just know.”
“Ok but, when we get married, will you tell me everything?”
“Only if you go with me to the Future”.
“I’ll go anywhere with you, to the end of the world if necessary”.
“Hey, be careful what you wish for, dear”.
“Robin, are you okay?”
“Better than ever, why?”
“I don’t know, you were so quiet after we talked about the Future. You aren’t hiding something from me, are you?”
“Like the end of the world, you mean. Do you think I’d be here if it had ended?
“No, of course, but…”
“I’ll tell you something: the world will end for me only if you’d leave me”.
“Then it will never end, cause I’ll never leave you”.
“You promise?”
“I promise”.
And for the rest of the night, Robin and Juliette forgot about the Future and focused exclusively in their wonderful Present.
Episode 24. Broken Promise
Juliette wasn’t able to keep the promise she had made to Robin for two reasons: the first was related with the arrival of roommates, which the whole group decided to admit in order to help with the dorm’s expenses.
The first to arrive were Ronnie Blackstone and Raj Urkel, both nice and well behaved. Then along came Sarah Mahoney, very flirty, specially with Dustin. Fortunately, Judith was not the jealous type of girl and trusted him absolutely.
The real problem emerged when the fourth roomie, Ayana Yuki, arrived. She showed great interest in the boys, specially the two who were already taken. Dustin was impressed with her at the beginning, but nothing happened cause he was faithful to Judith.
So Ayana focused on Robin. Unfortunately for Juliette, Ayana quickly captured his attention and they started to spend plenty of time together. this was what triggered the first reason why Juliette broke her promise: jealousy.
The second reason was a “little” indiscretion from Judith about Robin’s plans for the future.
Those two reasons together led to the end of Robin and Juliette’s once idyllic relationship…
25. The First Fight
The weekend after the final exams, the group decided to gather at the park to celebrate the beginning of summer.
They started to arrive, one by one, they enjoyed their lunch, then Judith and Dustin went fishing. Juliette was worried because Robin hadn’t showed up. Lunch was almost over when he finally appeared.
“Here comes Robin. Where in the world was he?”, Ronnie asked.
“At home I guess, he had to help Ayana to study”, Sarah answered.
“To study? But we’re on vacation?”
When Robin arrived and sat down, everyone greeted him except Juliette. Robin noticed she was unusually quiet and ignored him.
“So where were you, may I know? We said at 12, it’s 4 pm. We were about to leave!”
“I’m sorry, I was helping Ayana with an experiment, and I lost track of time”.
“Experiment? She doesn’t even study, all she does is flirt. She was after my brother first, now she’s after you. And you seem happy with that”.
“Juliette, I swear to you…”
“Don’t swear to me! You like her, I know”.
“Jul, you’re wrong!”
“What did you do all these four hours? Study? Please, Robin.”
“Believe it or not that’s what we did. I’m sorry I was late; it wasn’t my intention”.
“Save your excuses, I don’t wanna hear them. I’m going home”.
Juliette returned to the dorm alone. She was so angry that she didn’t say a word for the rest of the evening. It was Robin who suggested that they talk in order to fix their misunderstanding.
Episode 26. Mood Enhancer Potion
The next morning, Juliette drank a Mood Enhancer Potion to forget the argument she’d had the day before.
“Ah, that’s it. I feel much better!”
But she was still upset with Robin, so she spent the whole day at the Proving Ground.
And when she arrived home, she went outside to read because she didn’t feel like talking to anyone, especially not him.
Episode 27. A Quiet Evening
The dorm was too quiet that evening.
Dustin and Judith focused on their experiments.
Juliette stayed outside in the backyard until the sun set and didn’t show up for supper.
Sarah and Ayana had to eat alone because the boys didn’t show up either, they preferred to do it later, when there wasn’t anyone around, so they’d be able to chat in peace.
“So, what exactly happened yesterday?”
“Juliette got mad at me cause I was late for the picnic”.
“I think it wasn’t because of your delay, but because of the reason you were late. I get it you want to help Ayana, man, I agree she’s gorgeous, but as you could see, Juliette is very jealous”.
“Yeah, I thought jealousy was a primitive emotion from the past”.
“Well, 2012 is the past for you, we still deal with these things, you know. You’d better talk to her and settle your affairs before going back to the future”.
“Alright, I’ll talk to her tomorrow”.
Episode 28. The Second Fight
“So, what did you want to talk about?” Juliette asked.
“I just want to apologize to you once again. Really, it wasn’t my intention to upset you”.
“Really?”
“Yes. See, I didn’t know that jealousy still existed and that you were a jealous person”.
“That’s not the point. The point is you are my boyfriend, you shouldn’t be flirting with other girls”.
“So you don’t forgive me”.
“You don’t get it, do you? I don’t care how things are in the future, but in my time, boyfriends are faithful to their girlfriends”.
“Okay, got it. Now, do you forgive me?”
“I will, on one condition”.
“Which one?”
“I want Ayana out of the dorm”.
“But — that’s not fair, where would she go?”
“I don’t know, or care. That’s my condition and it’s not negotiable, so either you accept or forget about me”.
That’s a bit manipulative from you, don’t you think?
“I’m not trying to be manipulative, what I’m asking for is fair. She’s been causing problems since the she arrived. First, she tried to pick up Dustin, but as he wasn’t interested, she went after you and has been flirting with you endlessly since then!”
“Well, Raj flirted with you as well and I didn’t say anything”.
“But I didn’t spend four hours alone with Raj”.
Even if you did, the difference is I wasn’t crazy jealous and insecure about it”.
“I’m not insecure, Rob, I just don’t trust Ayana. So, consider accepting my condition or it’s over”.
“Is your last word?”
“Yes”.
“Again, it’s not fair. This isn’t my decision only; the whole group has a say”.
“I am sure they will support me, which you have not”.
“I support you, Jul, what I can´t support is your jealousy, cause I don’t understand it”.
“Of course you don’t. You can’t understand being angry, or hurt, or sad either. You’re always so… calm. Sometimes I even doubt you are human!”
“I am. I’ve just learned to control my emotions, that’s all”.
“Well, if you want this to work, you’ll have to be a bit more ’emotional’, you know? Now, don’t bother talking to me again if you do not intend to accept my terms.”
That was it, Juliette had released her ultimatum.
Now Robin had to decide whether to fulfill it or tell her what was going on with him once and for all.
Episode 29. Unfortunate Conversation
Juliette spent the rest of the day trying to distract herself to forget about her fight with Robin, wishing as well that he’d accept her terms so they could leave all this mess behind.
In the morning she enjoyed chatting in the hot tub with Judith and Ronnie.
And in the afternoon, she went to get a tattoo that would remind her about that day, which, depending on what would happen, could be a new beginning or the end of her relationship with Robin.
Meanwhile, Robin had made his decision. He was sorry for Ayana, but he wouldn’t put his relationship with Juliette at risk because her. So, as soon as she returned from school, he kindly asked her to leave the dorm. Now hopefully things would be back to normal.
And yes, the evening was going wonderfully so far… Until Judith committed an indiscretion; it wasn’t really her fault, it had been Juliette’s idea to ask for her for her opinion about what had happened between her and Robin. She wanted a girl’s point of view since her brother Dustin hadn’t been of much help.
“So you and Robin finally talked. How did it go?”
“Well, I dropped an ultimatum on him and I’m still waiting for his answer”.
“What kind of ultimatum?”
“I told him that if he wants our relationship to continue, Ayana will have to leave the dorm”.
“That was well played. Ayana has caused a lot of trouble already, but – what did Rob say?”
“Well, he said I was being unfair, but I hope he fulfills my ultimatum, or I’ll have to break up with him”.
“Oh, that would be a shame. Robin loves you so much!”
“And I love him, but I can’t stand all those girls around him, looking at him as if he was not from this world”.
“Well, he’s not from another world, but he’s from another time, maybe that’s what calls their attention.
Plus, jealousy isn’t well seen in the Future, it’s considered an old-fashioned emotion, as well as toxic and harmful to the relationship. Also, not to be a pain, but polygamy is kind of legal in Oasis Landing 2054″.
“What? Wow, that’s gross”.
“Easy, girl. I’m not saying I approve of it, only that it is legal. But you don’t have to worry about that, because Robin is not polygamous, he’s a serious guy and he truly loves you. You’re the only girl in his life now.
“So think carefully before breaking up with him. Seriously, you’d break his hear, with all the plans he has for the two of you after graduation…”
“Plans? What plans?”
“Well, you know, propose, get married, live with you in the Future, in a beautiful state-of-the-art house and fill it with half a dozen babies.
“Wait, wait, wait. Did you say babies?”
“Yes, lots of them, that’s the only way Robin will accomplish his mission: to start his own legacy and assure his descendance”.
“His mission, you said?”
“Yeah, didn’t he tell you? Oh no, don’t tell me it was a surprise?”
“Believe me, it is a surprise”.
“Oh my God, Jul, I’m so sorry, I ruined it for you, didn’t I?
“No, Jud. It wasn’t you who’s ruined it”.
Episode 30. The Breakup
“So, what exactly did you tell her?”
“Uh, I told her about your plans to start your own legacy”.
“Why would you do that? it was supposed to be confidential, Jud”.
“Sorry, it just slipped out”.
“Goodness, I need to talk to her”.
Minutes later…
“Jul, please calm down, why are you so angry? See, you got it all wrong”.
“I did not get it wrong! You made plans for the two of us without asking me, and you forgot about the original plan”.
“We didn’t have any ‘original plan’, we just said we’d move to the Future and live there together”.
“No! We said we’ll move to Future together, yes, but after finishing our careers. And then we’ll build our own Science Lab, do all kinds of experiments in it, grow the Forbidden Fruit and travel to the Dystopian Future to find out why the Oceans dried up. Remember that plan, Robin?”
“Of course, I remember that, but – that wasn’t our plan, that was the whole scientific team’s plan”.
“Exactly! Cause that’s what we are, a team of scientists, not just a mindless couple wanting to fill a house with half a dozen children to start some silly ‘legacy’!”
“So you don’t want to marry me, is that what you’re saying? What about the promise you made? Were you lying, Jul?”
“Don’t try to guilt trip me now, Rob. I didn’t lie, you did.”
“I didn’t lie either”.
“Not technically, but you made a plan without consulting me and on top you hid it from me.”
“I was going to propose to you after graduation, is that so terrible?”
“Yes, cause I don’t want to get married yet. There are many things I wanna do before becoming a housewife. I want to live and enjoy life; I want to be the owner of my space and my time.
“There’s not much time left Juliette”.
“What do you mean?”
“You know what I mean.”
“So the world is going to end. There’s another thing you lied to me about”.
“The world isn’t going to end, but it will change, a lot, and not for the better. A Dystopian Future is waiting for all of us, and I am the only one who can stop it from happening.
“All the more reason to stick with the team, we should try to look for a solution together”.
“There’s nothing you can do about it, at least not here. And I’ll need Advanced Technology to protect my descendance”.
“Your descendance. That’s all you care about, don’t you? You don’t care about me, what I say or feel.”
“Believe it or not, I do”.
“No you don’t, you know why? Cause you don’t have feelings; you don’t understand fear or anger or any other human emotion”.
“I understand those emotions, but I have no use for them if our planet is heading for the catastrophe that will affect my children, and yours! I need to stay strong, prepare myself for the fight; I must save all my energy to try to avoid a disaster that could end humanity as we know it…”
“See? You’re doing it again”, Juliette reproached.
“I’m doing what?”
“This, talk about the Future as if it belonged to you, making plans and calculations coldly and without emotion, as if you were a…”
“A robot? Is that what you think I am?”
“Sorry, but that’s how you behave at times. And the more I try to understand that behavior of yours, the more I realize I’m not ready to deal with it”.
“In other words, you’re giving up on me”.
“Forgive me, Rob, I love you with all my heart, but I just can’t go on with this”.
“You’re disappointed in me”.
“No, I’m not. Judy’s right, you’re a good guy, and I’m sure your intentions are good too, but we’re not in the same page and that will hurt both of us in the long run.
“I’d never hurt you”.
“I know you wouldn’t, not intentionally, that is. But we are so… different.
“Just look at you now, not a sign of emotion, not a hint of anger or desperation at what is happening.”
“I can’t be angry at you. I love you, Jul. And I’m not a robot, I’ve just learned to control myself. That’s what we do in the Future to fight depression and anxiety, which are at very high levels I must say. I’m sad about you leaving me, but I can’t lose my head over it, not at a time like this. If that makes me a robot, then so be it. I was raised by one and I’m not ashamed of it, I’m just sorry that you can’t understand me.”
“Now you’re playing the victim”.
“Playing the victim? I don’t understand”.
“Oh, right. People doesn’t play the victim in the Future either, right? You know what, Rob? I don’t think you’re a robot, a machine or anything like that. You’re just self-centered, you’re worried only about yourself and your ‘mission’. Well, I have a mission too and I’m going to accomplish it, with or without you. So decide now: either you stay in the Present with me and the team, or you go back to the Future alone and look for another girl to start your family.
“Is this another of your ultimatums?”.
“Call it whatever you want”.
Robin stood still for a moment, then he picked up his backpack and sighed.
“Okay. This really breaks my heart, but I’ll have to return to the Future without you, and I won’t wait until graduation. I’ll leave tomorrow before you wake up, so you don’t have to see me here the rest of the trimester. I thank you for the beautiful moments together, I’ll never forget them”.
“Robin, please… “, Juliette said, containing her tears.
“You know, you asked me if the world was going to end, remember what I answered? I said that for me if would end only if you’d leave me. Well, my world ended today. Thank you, and goodbye, Jul”.
With that said, Robin went out, got on Dustin’s car and left the dorm.
“Where’s Robin going?”, Dustin asked, entering the living room.
“I don’t know”, Julie sobbed. “All I know is he’s not coming back”.
Episode 31. The Aftermath
The night after Robin’s departure was sad for the whole team, although in different ways. For Dustin it was the loss of an emerging friendship.
Judith not only felt guilty about what had happened, but she didn’t feel comfortable around Juliette, as she thought she had been too hard on Robin. So she preferred to go to bed early and leave her alone with her brother, in case they needed to talk.
Juliette didn’t have much to say. The breakup had been so devastating for her that she didn’t feel like talking. Dustin decided not bring up the subject and just chat with her about trivial stuff until she was calmer.
And so the whole night went by, and Robin didn’t return.
In the early hours of the morning, Dustin got a message from him on his cell phone:
“Dear Dustin,
“I decided to travel to Aurora Skies during the night to get to the Portal as soon as possible. Please say goodbye to Judy for me and tell Juliette that I love her. Thanks for everything you did for me. Hopefully, we’ll see each other someday in the Future.
Robin”.
Dustin showed the message to Juliette. It was as heartbreaking for her as the silence and the offended looks of the other roomies, who blamed her for Robin’s departure.
The next morning, Dustin had to go to class on his own because Juliette was so depressed, she couldn’t even think of leaving the dorm.
Judith tried to continue with her studies and keep her spirits high for a couple days more, but her enthusiasm had extinguished with her best friend’s departure.
She attended a few classes and used Advanced Technology devices to distract herself, but this just increased her nostalgia for the Future and, eventually, made her leave the campus too, to return to her homeland, Oasis Landing.
It took Juliette a long time to recover, mainly because she still loved Robin, with all her soul.
She thought of him all the time. She imagined him in the Future building his new life and starting the family he wanted so much… without her.
She couldn’t forget the days and nights they had been together, and those last words from him that had hurt her so badly:
“I’ll leave tomorrow before you wake up, so you don’t have to see me here the rest of the trimester. I thank you for the beautiful moments together, I’ll never forget them”.
“You asked me if the world was going to end, remember what I answered? I said that for me if would end only if you’d leave me. Well, my world ended today”.
Juliette would never forget these words; she wouldn’t forget Robin either. Her world hadn’t ended, but it had changed. He had changed it, forever.

Episode 32. Building Bethany
Back in the Future, after a long depression due to his breakup with Juliette, and after visiting the Bot Emporium in search of fresh ideas, Robin managed to build his most perfect plumbot: Bethany.
He was so fascinated with his new creation that he decided to keep her instead of selling her at the Emporium.
The randomized name generator called her just “Beta”, but “Bethany” sounded more appropriate for the plumbot who, from this moment on, would be his only companion. But Bethany most certainly would become something more than just a simple companion for Robin…
Episode 33. Back to the University
Well yes, Bethany was an excellent companion for Robin, just like his other plumbot, the truly efficient Five, but Robin was not a quitter, so he decided he should go back to the University to finish his Technology career, the sooner the better.
He enrolled again to repeat the semester. To his luck, he was accepted back immediately.
Without delay, he packed his stuff, said goodbye to Bethany and Five, and headed to the Past, er… the Present to the Aurora Skies University.
Episode 34. Unexpected News
Aurora Skies, months earlier…
Juliette isn’t feeling well.
She has felt nauseous every morning since she returned from the University.
While she and Dustin enjoyed their dessert after Snow Day celebration…
“Jul, are you okay?”
“No.”
She sat next to her brother, which made her feel slightly better.
“Is something the matter, sis? You’ve been acting strange since we returned from Uni”.
“I know, and I’m sorry”.
“Wanna talk about it?”
“Yes, in fact, I was waiting for us to be alone to tell you”.
“Well, I’m all ears”.
“Fine. See, it turns out that… I might be… pregnant”.
“Whaaat? But you said that you didn’t want to… “
“I know what I said, so no lectures please, Dust”.
“Alright, then tell me, what happened? If I remember correctly, you didn’t want a family, or even get married. That was the reason why you and Robin broke up in the first place”.
“I know and I tried to be careful all the time, but it seems like I failed”.
“So, Robin is the father”.
“Obviously, who else?”
“I don’t know, Gilon?”
“Please, Dust, I haven’t seen Gilon in ages”.
“So most definitely it’s Robin’s baby”.
“Yes”.
“And what are you gonna do?”
“I’m still considering it, that’s why I’ll have to ask you not to tell anyone about this”.
“Not even to Robin? But it’s his baby too, he should partake in the decision, don’t you think? Plus, he wants children more than anything in this world, he would be ecstatic about it”.
“I know, but I’m not sure yet if I will keep it”.
“Wait, you’re not thinking of… “
“I told you I haven’t decided yet. So please, not a word to Mom and Dad, or to Judith. As we already know, she’s not very good at keeping secrets.
“Okay, but what if Mom and Dad notice it?”
“They won’t, cause I’ll be moving out soon”.
“Moving? Where to?”
“I don’t know yet. I have some savings, maybe I can rent a small house nearby”.
“But – what about the University, your science career?
“Chances are I won’t finish it; I won’t be able to return to college in a while”.
“Sorry to hear that, I’ll miss you next semester”.
“You could wait for me, we’ll go back together next year, with Judy”.
“Judy won’t go back to college, she’s still angry about what happened. You know, she’s Robin’s best friend, she’d take his side of course”.
“I don’t blame her. And it’s better this way, you know, if you don’t have her around you won’t be tempted to tell her.
“Don’t worry, I won’t. And you can count on me, for anything”.
“Thanks, Dust”, Juliette said, hugging her brother. “God, I’m so scared! I want to have this baby with all my heart, but it’s just… I had so many plans which were the reason why I broke up with Robin, and now… I guess he must hate me for how rude I was with him”.
“Robin couldn’t hate you. He loves you, Jul. If you tell him what’s going on he will support you, I’m sure”.
“No. I can’t tell him, not now. I must think well what I’m gonna do. So, if he calls you or asks you anything, please, don’t tell him yet, okay?”
“Okay”.
“You promise?”
“I promise”.
“Thank you, Dust”.
“No problem, sis. Everything’s gonna be fine, you’ll see.”
Episode 35. An Empty Dorm
That winter, when Robin arrived to the University, he found himself in an empty dorm. Neither Dustin, nor Juliette, nor the roommates that used to share the house with them the previous semester were there. He knew that Juliette wouldn’t talk to him, so he called Dustin, but his telephone was disconnected. What was happening with the Shens? Was everything all right in Aurora Skies? Robin started to feel worried, so he called their father, captain Dylan Shen, to see if everything was fine.
Dylan told him everything was okay; it was just that Dustin and Juliette had decided to take a sabbatical and wouldn’t be back to the University until next year.
The news were disappointing for Robin. He had hoped to be able to talk to Juliette to make things right, but it seemed like she had already made her decision. He couldn’t imagine, though, why she had chosen not to return to college. Her career was supposed to be the most important thing for her. Why had she changed her mind? And if Dustin had just taken a sabbatical, why disconnect his phone? Perhaps he didn’t want to be his friend anymore? What the hell was happening?
Episode 36. Back to Research
As we already know, Robin was back in the University.
The first thing he did upon his arrival was to continue with his work at the Science Research Station.
“I don’t know if I’ll be able to obtain the Forbidden Fruit on my own, it was Juliette who knew how to use this machine, but I can give it a try…”
Episode 37. Improving Cooking Skills
There aren’t any food synthesizers in the dorm, so Robin will have to improve his cooking skills.
Macaroni and cheese are a good start.
That was the easy part. The tough part will be to have dinner alone.
Robin misses Juliette terribly, but he’s decided to move on.
Episode 38. The First Night
It was sad for Robin to have to eat alone with all those memories…
At least this time he brought his Dream Pod with him. That way, despite of his loneliness, he was able to sleep peacefully, had sweet dreams and, in passing, he gained points in the Advanced Technology skill.
Episode 39. Life Goes on
It’s a new day and life goes on.
Robin is ready to go to class.
There isn’t much action at the campus today, apparently.
Anyway, Robin must attend two more classes, so he better get going.
“Wait, is that a chess table?”
Episode 40. A Break
Robin took a break between classes by practicing chess.
He was so absorbed by the game that he forgot his next class began in ten minutes.
Now he has to run or he will be late, and on his first day of school!
