InZOI Gameplay – Martin and Kaitlyn

Like I said before, Marty’s life was kind of lonely before he met Kaitlyn, the girl from the flower shop.

It was love at first sight for him, but not for her. It took Martin quite a while to persuade her to go out on a date with him. But it finally happened.

The first date didn’t turn out the way Marty expected, since he had the impression that Kaitlyn didn’t feel the same way he did, she was just going along with it, and that was partly true.

At a later date, they talked about it. Kaitlyn finally opened up. She was attracted to Martin, but she still couldn’t figure out what she felt for him. Martin didn’t mind this and suggested they continue seeing each other to see where things would lead. He also asked her to move in with him, but Kaitlyn declined, saying she needed to think about it.

Martin was a bit disappointed, but he thought Kaitlyn’s stance was reasonable, and that he shouldn’t put pressure on her; so he decided to let her decide, whether the outcome was positive or negative for him.

Meanwhile, he devoted himself to his art and his novels, which were doing quite well. His paintings alone were selling for very good prices on Pocket Market.

But he still felt very lonely and bored, in his new beachfront house in Bliss Bay.

He had bought that house thinking that living so close to the beach would attract Kaitlyn and make her decide to move in with him.

Though that wasn’t far off from the truth, he didn’t hear from Kaitlyn again for quite some time. He called her almost every day to ask her to meet up, but she turned him down, coming up with all sorts of excuses.

Finally, one day, Martin persuaded Kaitlyn to meet him at the art gallery. She arrived right on time, wearing her flower shop uniform. Martin couldn’t contain his excitement.
Martin: Kaitlyn, you came, thank God.
Kaitlyn: Yeah, I came as fast as I could… What’s the rush, Mart?
Martin: I wanted to know if you’ve thought about what I asked you.
Kaitlyn: You mean moving in with you?

Martin: Yep. Will you?
Kaitlyn: Mmm… Is it true you got a beachfront house?
Martin: Yes. It’s not very big, but it’s cozy and there’s enough room for the two of us, so, what do you say? Shall we go get your things now?
Kaitlyn: Will you respect all my conditions?
Martin: “No strings attached, no exclusivity, no jealousy”? Yeah, sure.
Kaitlyn: Okay, let’s do it then.

Martin: Thanks, Kate, you won’t regret it, I swear.
Kaitlyn: Hey, easy there, you’re choking me.
Martin: Oops, sorry.
(Yeah, Kaitlyn isn’t exactly the romantic type, lol).

As they arrived to Martin’s house…
Kaitlyn: (To herself) Wow, this place is fabulous—I’m definitely going to live the high life here!

Kaitlyn: (To Martin) Marty, this place is amazing—I could live here forever!

Good. Cause that was exactly what Martin wanted—for her to stay in his life forever, even on the terms she set. He didn’t know if he could stand seeing her date other guys, nor did he think he could date anyone other than her, but he would’ve done anything to keep her by his side. That’s how smitten Marty was with Kaitlyn.

All in all, their life together got off to a really good start. They couldn’t bear to be apart for even a moment. As soon as he got home from college, Kaitlyn would run into his arms, the two of them would go to the bedroom and not come out of there for hours.

But as the days went by, Kaitly began to feel “Sad” or “Annoyed” after “Setting the Mood”.

Something was off, but she didn’t know what it was, and she certainly didn’t dare tell Martin.

Ironically, even though she wasn’t satisfied physically, deep down, she had started to feel something for Martin. Was she falling in love with him?
Kaitlyn: Oh, no, please. I can’t afford to fall in love right now; I have to focus on my main goal!
Her “main goal” was to become a pop singer.

Living with Marty was supposed to be just a means to an end: a place to stay, free meals, and eventually, convincing him to move to Dowon to work at Adam Entertainment and launch her singing career. But things were quickly changing in her heart; now she was thinking about a life with Martin, about marriage, and about starting a family.

To keep her mind off those things, she would go out to the park to enjoy some freedom. She was really good at making friends, by the way, even the dogs and cats wanted to be friends with her! She really enjoyed those afternoons out on her own.

But when evening fell and it was time to go home, she started to feel anxious again. First, because she didn’t want to fall in love, and second, because she didn’t know how to tell Martin how she felt after setting the mood. She was afraid of offending him. So she chose not to tell him anything. Maybe over time things would work themselves out?

Sometimes on her way home, Kaitlyn would run into Martin at the bus stop as he was coming back from college.

As soon as she saw him, all her worries vanished from her mind!

To better understand Kaitlyn, here is her Zoi Card:

Kaitlyn was a young adult like Martin when they started their relationship, but according to the indicator, she is a little older than him. Also, although she and Martin share the “Cheerful” trait, Kaitlyn’s other trait is “Malicious,” which would explain why she sometimes acts cold or harsh.

Her Ambition is naturally “Voice of Heaven” as she wants to be a singer. About her Urges, we can’t see the descriptions here, but one of them is “Ask Martin Out on a Date,” while the other is “Give Junichi Suzuki a Gift” (Junichi is one of her crushes). This is typical of Kaitlyn’s ambiguity, her determination not to be exclusive with Martin and keep dating other guys even when she’s obviously in love with him now.

As for her Preferences (Likes and Dislikes), they’re pretty obvious. The photos she generally likes to take are selfies, which is typical of Kaitlyn, cause she believes the world revolves around her, lol.

I left out her Memory Checkpoint so as not to spoil things. Though you can probably figure out from her Values—which suddenly changed from “Accomplishment” to “Love”—which path Kaitlyn will choose to follow. 😉

Please forgive me if I’ve spoiled anything for you. I can hardly wait to tell you what’s happening right now, but like I said, I have to go back in time to tell the whole story from the very beginning.
