We’ve reached Part 4 of Tyler’s story. This isn’t the end—there will be a Part 5, and with that we’ll wrap up Tyler’s story and move on to another one of my OCs. I haven’t decided yet whether it’ll be John or Martin; we will see. For now, let’s start this post with the Adams children, Alyssa and Brittany.

The girls, leaving school on Halloween day in their brand-new, (and cute) costumes.

On their way home, they always stop to chat with a friend, or just to play and joke around with each other.

It looks as if they were arguing, and sometimes they do, but they’re just joking around. And even when they do get into an argument, it always ends well.

They’re both very playful, but well-behaved girls. Tyler has raised them well, despite being a Troublemaker—maybe because he doesn’t want them to get into trouble like he usually does.

Why I named them Alyssa and Brittany? Well… Alyssa’s mother is named Allison, and I wanted to give her daughter a similar name. Brittany was chosen cause I always like there to be similarities in siblings’ names. The “similarity” between Alyssa and Brittany is the double letter—that is, the double “s” in Alyssa and the double “t” in Brittany. I usually get the names of my children zois from the game’s generator. I roll the dice until I get a name I like and that is appropriate for my newborn Zois. 🤭

Before the girls get home, Tyler explains to Weizhi that things with Yunseo are over, that she quit her job at Adam Entertainment, so they probably won’t see each other ever again. Weizhi hopes he’s telling the truth and feels relieved that everything will go smoothly in their marriage from now on. By the way, she changed her hairstyle again.

The whole family gathered to enjoy a Halloween dinner.

Every now and then during dinner, Adam thinks about Yunseo—how sad she looked when she left. Alyssa’s voice interrupts his thoughts:
Alyssa: Daddy, are we going trick-or-treating?
Brittany: Mom said we have to finish our homework first.
Alyssa: Do we really have to?
Tyler: …
Alyssa: Daddy?
Tyler: Huh?

Weizhi: The girls want to go trick-or-treating. But I told them they have to finish their homework first.
Tyler: Oh, right—no homework, no trick-or-treating.
Alyssa: I’m going to finish mine in no time!
Tyler: Not so fast, young lady—come back here and finish your dinner first.

Alyssa: Done. Can I go now?
Tyler: I still see food on your plate.
Alyssa: But I’m full, and if I eat any more, I won’t be able to eat candy.

Weizhi: Come on, Ty, let her go. She’s had enough, and it was a very big plate, anyway. We can reheat it later.
Tyler: Okay. Go.
Alyssa: Thanks, Dad, thanks, Weizhi.
Tyler: What did I tell you to call her?
Alyssa: “Mom,” but Weizhi isn’t my mom.
Tyler: Lyssa…
Weizhi: Honey, give her a break—she’s right.

Later, in the kitchen…
Alyssa: I’m sorry, Weizhi.
Weizhi: Oh, sweetie, you don’t need to apologize—I totally understand.
Alyssa: It’s just I miss Mom.
Weizhi: I know, but luckily, you’ll see her tomorrow.

Weizhi is right, because the next evening, Alyssa is going to her mom’s to spend the days she’s legally entitled to with her. Allison got up early, as she has things to do before Alyssa arrives—whom, by the way, she also misses terribly.

She’s so happy cause she’s going to see her daughter again after so many days, and also because Tyler finally complied with the judge’s order to get her a house. Goodbye to that tiny, cramped apartment; hello to her new house in the suburbs, surrounded by green trees and fresh air.

She and Tyler could have been very happy here!
Allison: But that jerk chose to betray her and find himself another wife… Wait. Why am I having these thoughts? Ty and I got over it years ago. It’s all in the past—he has his life, I have mine. I shouldn’t let these thoughts get to me. I’d better clear the dishes and head out; it’s getting late.

The fresh air around her must not be as “fresh” as Allison thought, cause she’s coming down with a cold. On the day she’s meeting Alyssa, of all days— She’ll have to do something about it.

A quick trip to the doctor and a cold medicine take care of the problem. Allison feels much better.

The first thing she did today before Alyssa’s arrival was visit the urn of her deceased friend Kyeongtae Min. Once at the columbarium, she requests to see his urn so she can pay her respects. The moment she steps in she is overwhelmed with emotion. The memory of her dear friend is still very fresh.

She takes a few minutes to honor her friend and colleague.

The visit ended, Allison leaves the columbarium to head home. Before Alyssa arrives, she’ll meet up with Tyler there to discuss the details of her time with her daughter. She’s a little annoyed about having to see Tyler. It’s been a while, and she doesn’t know how she’ll feel being around him again.

Just a few minutes after she got home, Tyler showed up.
Tyler: Hi.
Alyssa: Hi. You’re right on time.
Tyler: Yeah, thank goodness I had the day off.
Alyssa: Cool.
Yeah, this is awkward. But they’re both doing it for Alyssa’s sake.

Tyler: So, how you been?
Alyssa: Eh, I’ve got a bit of a cold, but I’m fine.
Tyler: A cold? Won’t Alyssa catch it?
Alyssa: It’s just a cold, Ty—not a flu outbreak.
Tyler: Okay.

Allison: By the way, thank you for the house.
Tyler: No problem, I hope you like it.
Allison: Sure, it’s really nice and comfortable.
Tyler: Really?
Allison: Yeah. It’s actually much better than what I expected.

Tyler: Didn’t you think I would choose what’s best for you and Alyssa?
Allison: For Alyssa, maybe, but for me, I don’t know.
Tyler: Alli, come on…
Allison: Ok, I’m sorry, I don’t know why I said that. I don’t have to argue with you anymore. It’s… just muscle memory, I guess.
Tyler: It’s sad to hear you say that.

Allison: Oh, don’t listen to me, okay? I’m just rambling as usual. Please, forget it. Let’s talk about Lyssa instead. That’s why we’re here, isn’t it?
Tyler: Of course.

Tyler and Allison focused on what mattered, and all was set for Alyssa’s visit. She just got out of school and is on her way to her mother’s house. After so many days, she’ll finally be able to hug her, talk, and play with her. It’s not that she doesn’t enjoy her time with her dad—she adores him too—but Allison is her mom, and Lyssa loves spending time doing mom-daughter things with her. They’re sure to have a great time together! 💖
