The Day After

Starlight Shores 8 am…

It’s the next day, Kayla shows up at Tyron’s place. She doesn’t look happy, but he’s hopeful they can both forget about the Katie incident and move on with their lives. Obviously, Kayla doesn’t feel the same way.
Tyron: Kay, hi…
Kayla: Are you alone? We need to talk.
Brandi and her nanny haven’t gotten up yet, so it’s a good time for Tyron.

Kayla has never been one to beat around the bush, especially in a situation like this, so she opens fire right away:
Kayla: May I ask why you let that brat stay here?
Tyron: I guess you’re talking about Katie.
Kayla: And who else, Tyron?
Tyron: Well, it’s not what it seems, let me explain…
Kayla: Indeed, there’s a lot to explain. For one, why was she still here last night? You said she had left!

Tyron: Well, uh…
Kayla: And please don’t even think about denying it because I know for a fact that she came here after the concert.
Tyron: I’m not denying it, but how did you find out she…?
Kayla: I know a lot of people here, Ty. One of those people saw her. So, what do you have to say?
Tyron: First of all, you need to relax, ¿okay?
Kayla: I don’t want to relax; I want you to tell me what the hell happened last night, Tyron!

Tyron: Okay. Yes, Katie was here. She had left at noon but came back later cause she forgot some stuff. So I called her another cab, she left again, and that’s it.
Kayla: “That’s it”? You’re telling me nothing happened between you and her?
Tyron: Of course nothing happened.
Kayla: Are you sure?
Tyron: (Gasps)

Tyron: Well, yes, something actually happened. But it was nothing serious, okay?
Kayla: What do you mean “nothing serious”?
Tyron: I mean Katie and I… we kissed.
Kayla: What?
Tyron: Or rather, she kissed me.
Kayla: And I suppose you pushed her away immediately

Tyron: No, I mean, yes, I mean…
Kayla: Did you push her away or didn’t you, Tyron?
Tyron: Well, I didn’t want to be rude, so…
Kayla: (Livid) You returned the kiss.

Tyron: For a split second. But I swear it didn’t mean anything, you know I would never….
Kayla: Enough. I don’t wanna hear it.
Tyron: No, please listen. I didn’t push her, like, right away, but I stopped her and told her that she needed to leave.

Kayla: (With tears in her eyes) Be honest with me, Ty, do you still care for her? Cause if you do, you better tell me now, I’ll pack my things and leave.
Tyron: No, please don’t go, Kay.
Kayla: Then talk to me Tyron. And it better be the truth this time.

Tyron: Okay, listen: Katie is very strong-willed girl, and, for a moment, she made me doubt myself – physically, I mean. But in my mind and in my heart, I never for a moment thought of betraying you. I love you, Kay, and it’s you I want to be with, not her.

Kayla hesitates. What if Tyron is lying? The Cho brothers are womanizers by nature; everyone says Ty is the exception, but who knows?

Tyron: Believe me, Kay, I know what it’s like to be cheated on, day after day, and how much it hurts to find out. I’ve been through it myself; I know how it feels, so I’d never, ever do the same to you. I’m happy with you, Kayla, and the short time you weren’t here, I missed you like crazy. All I wanted was for morning to come so I could see you again and make sure I hadn’t lost you.
Kayla: Oh, Ty…

Slowly, Kayla’s anger slowly begins to dissipate, as she melts into Tyron’s arms.
Tyron: Please, forgive me. I let you down, but that won’t happen again. Katie is out of my life, for good.
Kayla: You swear?
Tyron: I swear.
Kayla: Thank you, baby.
Tyron: So, you forgive me?
Kayla: Of course I do.

Tyron: Thank you for understanding.
Kayla: Thank you, for being honest with me.
Tyron: Anytime.
Kayla: Sorry for yelling at you.
Tyron: That’s okay.
Kayla: I love you, Ty.
Tyron: And I love you, babe.

No further words were needed. It is obvious that both are eager to put this whole affair behind them.

Karla may have a bad temper, be possessive and jealous, but she’s not a fool. She knows what she has in Tyron and she’s willing to keep it. Tyron clearly feels the same way.

Calm has returned to the Cho household. Tyron and Kayla have overcome their first difficulty. He acknowledged his mistake, Kayla was understanding. Love triumphed this time (despite Katie). Things are looking good, let’s hope they stay that way.
