Before entering the house, Katie stopped in front of the hot tub in the garden, located next to the pool.
Katie: Wow, you have a hot tub?
Tyron: Uh, yeah, I rarely have time to use it, though.
Katie: Do you mind if I try it out?
Tyron: Katie, I don’t think…
Katie: Oh, come on, let’s go in for a bit. Please?

Before Tyron could raise any objection, Katie tied her hair back in a ponytail, took off most of her clothes, and got into the hot tub. He had no choice but to join her.

Katie: You know, I could get used to this very quickly.
Tyron: Well, you better don’t, cause you’re flying back to Hidden Springs tonight.
Katie: Really? And who’s going to make me, you?
Tyron: Katie, this new rebellious girl role just doesn’t suit you.
Katie: What do you mean by “rebellious”?

Tyron: Lying to your parents, basically. That wasn’t a good idea. And since you ended up in my house, it’s only my duty to tell them you’re here and, yes, send you back to Hidden Springs on the next flight too.
Katie: That won’t be necessary. I’ll call them myself and tell them the truth.
Tyron: For real?
Katie: For real.
Tyron: Okay. Now, I have things to do, so enjoy the hot tub, just make sure you dress warmly when you get out. It’s not the best time of year to be outside in light clothing.

With that said, Tyron entered the house to find that Brandi had already started her breakfast.
Tyron: Hey, Brand, good morning, sweetie. How’s breakfast?
In response, Brandi started playing with her cereal until the babysitter returned and took her away.

Later, Tyron prepared lunch for himself and Katie. She made sure to change into more comfortable clothes.
Tyron: I see you didn’t listen to me about wrapping up warm.
Katie: Your heating system is good. I’ll be fine.

After lunch, since Tyron had to practice, Katie went to explore the house on her own.

She distracted herself by listening to music, and even thought about sending a message to her parents, using the computer that Tyron had made available to her for that purpose, but in the end she didn’t dare text them.

A few hours later…
Tyron: So? Did you call your parents or send them a text?
Katie: No, not yet. Maybe later.
Tyron: Later? When?
Katie: I don’t know.
Tyron: Well, I hope you do it as soon as you get to your place.

Katie: Yeah, well, truth is… I don’t have a place yet.
Tyron: What? But you said…
Katie: I’m sorry. I lied to you.
Tyron: Good Lord, Katie.

Tyron: What were you thinking when…? Wait, you planned this, didn’t you? From the beginning, your idea was to stay here. Not just for one day.
Katie: Well, if it’s bothering you, just ask me to leave and I will.
Tyron: You know I wouldn’t leave you out on the street. Starlight Shores is not the right place for a girl your age to walk around alone.
Katie: So what are you going to do?

Tyron: (Sighs) Well, this bedroom is free for now. You may stay here tonight. Just one night, Katie. First thing tomorrow morning, we’ll find you somewhere to live.
Katie: Aw, thank you, Ty, but… what about your girlfriend?
Tyron: I’ll explain to Kayla right today why you’re here and how long you’ll be staying.

Katie: Won’t she be angry?
Tyron: She probably will, at first, but I hope she’ll understand when I explain everything to her. I only ask that you follow my rules. You’re free to walk around the house, just keep your distance and respect boundaries at all times, okay?
Katie: I’ll try.

Tyron: One more thing. Tonight, I have a gig at the Rodeo Go-Go at 8 p.m. I’ll probably be back late, so for your own protection, please don’t go out at night.
Katie: Seriously? You want me to stay locked up between these four walls?

Tyron: I know it sounds unfair, but like I told you, it’s for your own safety. This city can be dangerous at night, especially for a young girl like you.
Katie: You underestimate me. Besides, I just got a job. I’ll have to go out on the streets anyway.
Tyron: Not on my watch. Please, understand, if something happens to you, what will I tell your parents?

Katie: It’s better if you don’t tell them anything. Especially Dad. He wouldn’t like it one bit to know that I’m alone with you in your house.
Tyron: We’re not “alone,” my daughter and her nanny are here, and my girlfriend will be here soon too.
Katie: We’re alone now. Maybe we should make the most of these moments. Don’t you think?
Tyron: Katie…

Once again, the intrepid Katie interrupts Tyron by stealing a kiss from him.

To which he reacts by immediately pushing her away.
Tyron: Katie, I told you…
Katie: Yes, yes, I know. Your house, your rules. I’m sorry, I try to follow them, but it’s hard with you in front of me all the time. You’re like a magnet to me.

Tyron: Well, you’ll have to control yourself, because one, we’re not alone. My daughter is here, under this very roof now. And two, if you continue like this, I’ll be forced to send you somewhere else to spend the night, which, believe me, I wouldn’t like to do.

Katie: Relax, Ty. You’re the boss here. I’ll behave myself from now on, I promise.
Tyron gasps. Something tells him he can’t trust this “new” Katie. His brother Terry is right, she’s bad news, sooner or later, she’ll get him into trouble. He needs to talk to Kayla as soon as possible, but it’s getting late, and he has to be at the Rodeo two hours early. He’d better call her right after the concert so he can explain everything calmly. Hopefully, he can keep Katie under control until then.
