How to forget one of the saddest memories in Allan’s life, the day his dear friend and colleague Octavia Moon died. The news came right at one of those times when he was struggling whether or not to go back to drinking.

When he read it in Social Bunny, he couldn’t believe it. Just a few days earlier he had spoken to her on the phone, what the heck had happened? As is often the case in press releases, they were not clear or detailed about the cause of Octavia’s demise.

Which left Allan no choice but to call Thorne to offer his condolences and try to figure out how such a tragedy could have happened. But Thorne never answered. Allan tried calling several more times, but a recording kept saying the number was unavailable.

The pain of losing his dear friend left Allan crushed and on the verge of tears. How could such a thing happen? Perhaps Octavia was ill and chose not to tell him so as not to worry him? To think he had been bothering her with such trivialities! He should have visited her more often, he should have been interested in her more; after all they were co-worker, and best friends.

AllanWell, there’s nothing I can do for Octavia anymore, but I can give my support to Thorne. He’s not answering his phone though, I’ll have no choice but to go to his house, it’s only a few blocks from here. But it’s pretty late now, it’ll have to be tomorrow.

Zoe has just heard the sad news. She was never friends with Octavia, met her once or twice, Allan introduced them at a party, she was a decent woman, perhaps the only actress (or actor) at Plumbob Studios who didn’t try to hit on Allan. To die at such a young age, leaving behind six young children, is quite a tragedy.

When the news appeared on social media, the kids were already asleep, Allan chose not to disrupt them, especially Kennedy. She had been talking to Orange a lot lately. If he had told him Octavia was sick or something, she would’ve told him. It must have been something sudden, like an accident or the like. Whatever happened to her?

Zoe extended her condolences to Allan before going to bed. He was a wreck, so he fell asleep right away. He plans to go to the Bailey-Moon’s residence tomorrow to pay his respects. For now, he just wants to sleep it off and not dwell on it. The possibility of dying is something he’d rather not think about much, but Octavia’s passing has been a wake-up call. He and Zoe need to take better care of themselves.

RIGHT THE NEXT MORNING…

The news, barely a rumor on social networks the night before, has already hit the TV and the newspapers. It is official, Octavia Moon has left the world of the living.  The cause of her death remains undisclosed, but at this point, does it really matter?  She’s gone, period, there’s no turning back.

The Wilson kids are already awake and just heard the news. Kennedy was the first of course, via a call from a heartbroken Orange. She’d run to his side right now if she didn’t have to go to school.

Lukas: Gosh, Octavia Moon died? No way, she was the same age as dad. Oh my God, poor Orange.

Anika: Octavia Moon passed away? Aw, no, dad must be devastated.

Yeah, Allan is so overwhelmed with grief he’s unable to hold back his tears. Octavia was one of his closest friends at the studios. The one who encouraged him the most to stop drinking and go to rehab.
Allan: Oh no, Octavia, not you, my friend. God, I’m gonna miss you so much!

Allan: I’ll never forget what you did for me and my family, you urged me to look after Mercy when Brit and I broke up, all without affecting my marriage with Zoe. You were such a caring friend...

Allan: And just a few days ago you talked Orange into answering the phone for Kennedy, thanks to you everything is fine with them now.

Allan: Now Kenny and O. talk to each other daily, she’s happier than ever and that was your work, Tavs. It’s a shame I didn’t get to thank you for it personally.

Breakfast is ready, but Allan is not the least bit hungry, he’d better get dressed and go and give Thorne his condolences. He’ll have to go alone, though, cause the kids left for school and Zoe is already at work.

LATER THAT MORNING…

Allan: Thorne, I’m so sorry for your loss. man. Please Accept mine, Zoe’s and my entire family’s condolences and count on us for anything you need.
Thorne(Sniffles) Thanks, bro.

Allan: If you need help with the kids, the house or whatever, we’re at your complete disposal, remember we’re just around the corner.
Thorne: I appreciate it, Al, but for now I’d like some privacy for me and my kids, if you don’t mind.
Allan: It’s okay, I totally understand.

Thorne(Sobs) I have no idea what I’m gonna do without her. She was the head of this house, you know, the one who moved everything.
Allan: That’s true… Octavia was a great woman, a champion in every way.
Thorne: I won’t make it without her!

Allan: Yes, you will. Just take it one day at a time, okay? And, again, if you need anything, just call and I’ll come right over, no matter the time or where I am, okay?
Thorne: (Nods)
Allan: Same to you, Orange, our house is your house, remember that.
Orange: Thank you, Mr. Wilson.

Thorne: Thanks bro, you’re a great guy, I can see why Octavia loved you so much.
Allan: And I her, and you, dude. Please take good care of yourself, your kids are gonna need you.

Thorne: Take care of yourself too, Al, and your family. See, we don’t know how much longer we’ll be here.
Allan: I know, I’ll take care, I will.

Thorne’s advice has struck a chord with Allan. He came to offer comfort, but now he’s seriously worried. What if he, like Octavia, were to die suddenly? Who would take care of his family? There’s Zoe, of course. And Anika, Lukas and Kenny will soon be adults, but Zeke? And Mercy, Brytanni’s daughter, who frankly he’s forgotten about lately. Since he’s in the area, maybe he should pay her a visit? 🤔

In loving memory of Octavia Moon – November 7, 2023. ✨
