Dale finished studying and went to bed at almost dawn. A few hours of sleep is better than none at all.

But at 6 o’clock the alarm clock is ringing. He’d better get up and turn it off, before it wakes Kelly.

A much needed bath, but it has to be super fast because there isn’t much time.

Now fresh and rested, he’ll just grab his books, and head off to the exam, which is due to start in about an hour.
Dale: All right, let’s get this over with.

As he passed through the living room he noticed Sarah sitting asleep again, this time on the living room couch. He deduced from the change of clothes that she had gotten up, but felt sleepy again. College life can really wear you down.

Shortly after Dale left for his exam, however, Sarah sprang into action, as she noticed that the laptop in the studying area had broken down… again.

Sarah: Seriously, how do they manage to break this thing apart on a daily basis?

Meanwhile, Kelly is still fast asleep.

Not so Lauri, who has already woken up full of energy for whatever the weekend brings.

The coast is clear, so she goes into the living room in her pyjamas, without her glasses and with her hair uncombed. Sarah detects her presence at once.

Sarah: Hey, girl, why are you up so early on a Saturday? Don’t tell me, you’re worried about the report card. Well, I’m sure you passed it all with straight A’s, you don’t even need to check.

Lauri: I’m not awake for that. I’m gonna get a haircut, will you come with me to the beauty salon?
Sarah: A haircut, huh? Why, your hair looks great as it is.
Lauri: Well, I’m not going for anything drastic, I’ll just cut it a bit.

Sarah: Okay, just make it quick, remember we’re going out with Cho and Kelly to celebrate the end of the term.
Lauri: Oh, we have plenty of time while Dale takes his make-up exam. Though, I don’t know if Kelly would want to go out with me after yesterday.
Sarah: What happened yesterday?
Lauri: I’ll tell you on the way, come on.

As they walk to the beauty salon, Lauri tells Sarah what happened the night before between her and Kelly.
Lauri: I wasn’t too harsh, was I?
Sarah: Well, what you told her wasn’t exactly sweet.
Lauri: But it’s true, isn’t it?
Sarah: Kelly’s not as evil as you think, she’s just hot-headed.

Lauri: Do you think she’ll wants to kick me out of the dorm?
Sarah: This late in the game? Nah, she was just tired, we all were, the stress of exams and stuff. I’m sure she’ll apologize later.
Lauri: Kelly, apologize? Yeah, sure.

It’s Lauri’s turn for her makeover. Actually, the clothes aren’t bad. But her hair has grown too long for her style, a good haircut wouldn’t go amiss.
Sarah: So? What are you going for?

Lauri: I don’t know yet, I’m not even sure what I want.
Sarah: Yeah, well…

Sarah: Honestly? I wouldn’t change anything on you, but it’s your life, and your hair, so do as you please. I’ll wait for you downstairs, okay?
Lauri: Okay.

Lauri: Maybe I should leave shorts behind. Jeans like Sarah’s would probably be more appropriate for college.
ABOUT AN HOUR LATER…

Lauri: Not bad at all, I like the jeans better, they’re really cool. And the hairstyle, it goes more with the real me. Now let’s see what Sarah thinks.

Sarah can’t say anything now, cause she’s in the bathroom, wondering if she should change her looks too.
Sarah: Nope, jeans and a nice t-shirt is all I need. And my hair sure looks fabulous the way it is.
Self-confidence has never been a problem for Sarah. 😄

Meanwhile back at the dorm, Kelly had to get up because her phone wouldn’t stop ringing. It’s 10 a.m. already.
Kelly: Must be Dale calling to tell me how his exam went. Hopefully it’s good news.

Kelly: Ugh, I’d gladly sleep until noon, but this is Dale, I have to pick up the phone.

Kelly: Hello?
Dale: (On the phone) Hey, babe, it’s good news, I passed the exam with flying colors. The professor cancelled the grade on the first one, so my GPA remained flawless.
Kelly: Aw, Dale, that’s wonderful, congratulations honey, I knew you got this.

Success! Just one more week to graduate and they can both go home. In the meantime, Kelly should shower and get ready for their group outing.

Kelly is ready; Dale is finishing changing, all that’s left is to wait for the girls to return.
Kelly: Where can those two be? We said we’d meet them here at 12 pm.
SHORTLY AFTER…

Dale: Sarah called, they’re running a little late, so we’ll meet them at the café.
Kelly: Well, at least it will be just you and me in the car this time.

It’s a sunny afternoon, exams are over, it’s time to relax and celebrate!
