As he prepares dinner for the entire dorm, Dale’s phone keeps ringing.
Dale: Who could it be? I hope it’s no one from my family. If Sarah told Terry about my exam, I swear…

Dale (On the phone): Hello? Yes, this is Dale Cho. What…? Really? Wow, that’s… Thank you very much, Professor, I really appreciate it… Sure, I’ll be there early in the morning. Thank you very much indeed.

Dale: Whew, saved by the bell…
That’s right, the professor who set the exam Dale failed called him. Due to his good GPA and his excellent grades during the term, he’s decided to give him a chance to take a make-up exam, at no cost to him. It seems that being a dedicated student has its rewards.

So, with nothing else to worry about, it’s time to enjoy a tasty dinner. Dale is about to serve it when…
Lauri: Dale?
Dale: (To himself) Uh, oh. What does Lauri want now?
Kelly: (Goes on high alert).

Lauri: Like I said before, if I can help you in any way, please know that I’m here for you.
Dale: Thanks, Lauri, but luckily everything’s sorted out now.
Lauri: Really? Oh, I’m so glad to heart that. May I ask, how did you solve it?

Lauri: It’s not like I’m going to fail or anything, I’m just curious, you know?
Dale: It’s okay, my professor offered me to make up the exam.
Lauri: Did he? Wow, that’s amazing. And you really deserve it, for all the dedication you put into your studies.
Lauri gushes with praise for Dale; all he can hear his stomach growling, he’s starving!

From where she stands Kelly can’t hear what they’re saying, but she’s starting to get annoyed with Lauri’s incessant chatter.

Kelly: What is it she has to tell him now? Why won’t she just leave him alone?
Sarah: Do you think dinner will be ready soon? I’m starving here.
Kelly: Tell that to your friend, she’s been blabbering for minutes while our dinner gets cold.

Lauri: I’m so glad everything was solved for you. Still, if you need help with your make-up exam, I’ll be here all night.
Dale: Uh, thank you very much, but I’m good.

Kelly: May I know how much Lauri needed to say to you?
Dale: Ah, nothing much. She was just showing sympathy for what happened and offered help with my exam.
Kelly: Well, what happened it’s none of her business. And help how? You’re not even in the same major.

Kelly: I don’t get why she keeps stalking you.
Dale: Come on, Kel, she’s not stalking me.
Kelly: Yes, she is, and she doesn’t seem to take no for an answer. I may need to talk to her soon.
Dale: I don’t think that’s necessary. I don’t need her help anyway. My problem with the exam has already been solved.

Kelly: Really? How?
Dale doesn’t want to go into details right now. Boy, he’s truly starving, he needs food now!
Dale: Uh, I’ll fill you in on the details over dinner. Give me that and go sit down, I’ll serve it right away.
Kelly: No, you sit down, honey, I’ll serve it.

Kelly: (To Lauri) I figure you wanna hear the whole gossip, don’t you? Well, it’s your chance, genius girl.
Lauri: …

Kelly: (To Sarah) What about you, Sarah, weren’t you starving too?
Sarah: Yeah, I’m just honestly a bit surprised that you’re the one serving dinner.

Kelly: Well, don’t get used to it. I’m doing it only to support my boyfriend.
Dale: Aw, thanks, babe.
Kelly: You’re most welcome, hon.

When everyone is about to sit around the table, Sarah’s phone rings.
Dale: I really hope that’s not Terry, insisting that you go to work in Lucky Palms.
Sarah: Well, I am sorry to inform you I already accepted the job.
Lauri: I hope you didn’t tell him I accepted too.
Sarah: Mm, I told him you’re thinking about it.

Lauri: Why, I never said that.
Sarah: You’ll accept, eventually. (Pulls her phone off her jacket) Hold on a sec, I’m gonna take this… Hello? Oh, Dina, hi.

It’s definitely not Terence calling, Dale breathes a sigh of relief, but….
Dale: Who the hell is Dina?
Kelly: Please don’t start me on this.
Lauri: She’s the cleaning girl.

Sarah: (On the phone) Really? Well, I’m so sad to hear that, but – you’ll still come over to play video games once in a while, won’t you?
Dale: Video games?
Kelly: Sarah hit it off with Dina and invited her over to play video games after work.
Lauri: You could tell they both wanted more than just play video games.
Dale: Oh, I see.

Dale: Wow, you do work fast, don’t you Sarah?
Kelly: Yep, and on Dina’s first day.
Sarah: And her last, Dina won’t be returning.
Kelly: (Sighs) Well, thanks for scaring away my newly hired aide.
Sarah: Blame Lauri, she scared her away.
Lauri: Me? Why?

Sarah: Well, you weren’t too friendly with her.
Lauri: What? I was super polite.
Sarah: Yeah, right.
Dale: (To Sarah) Your phone, it’s ringing again.
Sarah: Maybe it’s Dina to say she’s changed her mind.
Kelly: Let’s hope.
Sarah: If you’ll excuse me, I’ll take this one in my room.
