But by the time Sarah and Lauri arrived on campus, it was late, Dale had already met Kelly after her exam and told her what had happened. Kelly was worried. What was going to happen with him now? Would he fail the trimester? Would they be able to graduate together? It was best not to torture him with those questions now.

So she put aside her fear and her urge to lecture him, deciding to express her support instead.
Kelly: Oh, Dale, I’m so sorry to hear that, honey.
Dale: Thanks, baby, me too.
Kelly: What are you going to do now?
Dale: I don’t know yet.

Kelly: Will you still be able to graduate?
Dale: I hope so. but for that I have to find a way to fix this.
Kelly: How?
Dale: Well, I’ll talk to the professor, maybe he’ll let me repeat the exam.

Kelly: Doesn’t that cost money? What if it’s expensive, how are will we pay for it?
Dale: We’ll see.
Kelly: Maybe if you tell your parents, or Terence, or even your grandparents, I’m sure they would help you.
Dale: Nah, I’ll try to fix this myself before my family finds out, I don’t want to upset them.

Kelly: But where will we get the money for the make-up exam then?
Dale: I have some savings.
Kelly: But Dale, those are for your bar, when we get to Bridgeport.
Dale: It’ll take me a while to open that bar, first I have to learn the business. And I’m not spending it all, I’ll just take a little.

Dale: Come on, don’t worry, we’ll graduate together, just as we planned, trust me.
Kelly: I do, and whatever happens, you’ll have my full support.
Kelly seals her words with a loving kiss that Dale returns without hesitation.
Dale: Thank you, babe. Now, shall we go home? It’s late and cold.

MEANWHILE, NOT FAR FROM THERE…

Lauri: I told you he wouldn’t need our support.
Sarah: And I told you we were just a backup. It’s good that things didn’t get serious, don’t you think?
Lauri: Yeah, but it wasn’t exactly nice to see those two making out.

Sarah: Ew, yes, it was kind of disgusting. But hopefully it will help you understand.
Lauri: Understand?
Sarah: That Cho is never going to leave Kelly, so just forget about him and move on, they’re meant for each other, Lauri.

Lauri: Meant for each other, huh? We’ll see about that when he fails the term, and she has to put all her plans and aspirations on hold to wait for him.
Sarah: Come on, Cho isn’t going to fail the term, he’s smarter than that, plus his family has endless money, they’ll get him out of this in a heartbeat.
Lauri: Really? I heard his father is a firefighter and his mother a police officer.

Sarah: Exactly, and they’re both highly respected in their community. Also, his grandpa is a famous pop star, so is his brother Tyron. And let’s not forget Terence, who is… well, he’s Terry the Terrible. So Cho has nothing to worry about.
Lauri: If so, what are we still doing here?
Sarah: You’re right let’s go home. It’s freezing cold and I’m starving.

Once at home, Kelly reiterates her support for Dale with a long and tender hug. But almost immediately she once again falls prey to her fears.

Kelly: Are you sure you don’t wanna call any of your brothers? Maybe that’d make you feel better.
Dale: My brothers have their own stuff going on. Terence must be heading out to the Casino and Ty… well you know, after the divorce I don’t think he’s in the mood, plus he must be busy with his move to Starlight Shores.

Kelly: I’m not saying you should call them to ask them for anything, just to let off steam. They are your family.
Dale: Right, and that’s precisely why I don’t want to burden them with my problems. I’d rather this stays between you and me… and the girls, I guess.

Kelly: We don’t have to tell them either.
Dale: Yeah, I wish they hadn’t found out, but unfortunately Lauri was there when I came out of the exam and well… she knows now.
Kelly: And she probably ran to tell Sarah.
Dale: You can bet on it.

Dale: And Sarah could tell Terry, since they’ve been talking a lot on the phone lately, you know, because of the job he offered her.
Kelly: Jeez, that’s true.
Dale: Yep, I’ll have to ask her to be discreet.
Kelly: Sarah? Discreet? Yeah, good luck with that.

Lauri: ¿En serio? Oí que sus padre es bombero y su madre policía.
