In the meantime, where has Dale been all day? Well, he’s just been roaming around the campus, delaying the moment of going home and having to explain to Kelly that he failed one of his finals.

Kelly, for her part, is leaving the dorm to go and sit her own exams. If Dale is still on campus, maybe they can meet up when she comes out.

At the same time, Lauri is arriving at the dorm. The first thing she hears when she walks in is the commotion in the living room.

Sarah: Hey, Lauri, you’re just in time we’re testing a new video game!
Lauri: (To herself) “We?”
Dina: (Also to herself) Who the hell is Lauri?

Lauri: And she is…?
Sarah: She’s Dina, my new friend. Dina, this is Lauri, my roommate.

Lauri: Hi, Dina. Are you new on campus?
Dina: Uh, no, I’m the cleaning girl. I finished my shift a while ago and Sarah invited me to play.
Lauri: Oh. I see.
Dina: Well, I think I should go now. It was nice to meet you, Lauri.

Dina quickly said goodbye and left. Sarah fled to the backyard before Lauri could say anything. She doesn’t know why, but she has the impression Dina won’t be coming back. Did she think that she and Lauri were…?

While taking a relaxing bath, Lauri also finds herself thinking.
Lauri: Did Dina think there was something going on between Sarah and me? How absurd! As far as I’m concerned, they can play together as much as they like. Not with my game controller, of course.

After her bath, Lauri feels much more relaxed and also happy to have passed all her exams. Now all that’s left is to enjoy the weekend. But where is everyone? Kelly is probably at her own exams. As for Dale… well, he must be around, still feeling miserable about having failed. The poor thing!

As for Sarah, it wasn’t difficult to find her. She was in the backyard, practicing on the ping pong table. Lauri immediately joined her.

Sarah: Are you sure you wanna play with me? You have zero chance of winning.
Lauri: We’ll see about that.

Lauri: Now, can you tell me why you invited the cleaning girl over to hang out?
Sarah: I don’t know, I think she’s pretty, and I was in desperate need of a friend since you only think about Cho.
Lauri: Of course I don’t think about Cho!

Sarah: Oh, yes you do…
Lauri: Nope, I get it, he’s not interested in me. So it’s over.
Sarah: If you say so… Where is he, anyway? Kelly had almost dug a ditch in the floor from pacing around waiting for him.

Lauri: A ditch? That’s a bit of an exaggeration, don’t you think?
Sarah: No seriously, she’s worried sick because he didn’t arrive right after the exams. Yeah, well, he… he wasn’t feeling well.
Sarah: Really? About what?

Lauri: His exam. He failed it.
Sarah: What? Cho failed an exam? There’s no way!
Lauri: Well, he did. I was there when he came out.

The news took Sarah so off guard that she sent the ball out of court.
Lauri: And… it seems I’ve just won this match.
Sarah: Yeah, whatever, I can’t think about the match now.
Lauri: So what are you thinking about?

Sarah: Cho. He must be very depressed, and we don’t know how Kelly will react when she finds out what happened.
Lauri: Oh, don’t worry, she’ll know exactly how to “cheer him up”, if you know what I mean.
Sarah: Maybe, but we’d better stick around in case Cho needs support.
Lauri: From us? Kelly won’t even let us get close.
Sarah: True, but still, it’s best to be vigilant, come on let’s go.

In the blink of an eye, the girls are on their way to campus. In Dale’s car, by the way, since he let Lauri take it so she could go home.
