Back at the University…

Aaaand we’re back at the University with Dale Cho and his girlfriend Kelly Randall. It’s been a while since I last posted about them, so here’s a link to my latest post in case you need it for context:

It is the evening after the group outing to the cinema, after a tense and silent comeback, peace and quiet have returned to the dorm.

Dale and Kelly have already gone to bed, Sarah followed suit.

The only one still awake is Lauri, but she’s also heading to bed. She’s exhausted and the final exams are early tomorrow.

Sunrise. The new day is a blank canvas for the Cho dormitory.

Dale, Sarah and Lauri are leaving for their final exams, still not talking to each other.

It’s Dale who eventually breaks the silence:
Dale: Come on, hurry up, we don’t have all day.
Sarah: Take it easy, Cho. It’s barely dawn,

Kelly is the only one who stayed home because her exams start later. She’s still anxious about everything that happened at the movie theater last evening. She doesn’t want Lauri to take advantage of her absence to flirt with Dale.

Anyway, time to get down to studying. Where do we start?

Kelly has always felt that anatomy is of no use to a future model, but better be prepared for whatever life throws at her when she gets out of Uni.

A model doesn’t need to know everything, but she doesn’t have to be illiterate either, right?
Kelly: Yeah, I’ll be the most educated and skilled model in the world!

Kelly: But first I need something to eat. Where’s the food? There’s nothing usable here.

Kelly: And ugh, what’s that smell? You can tell this fridge hasn’t been cleaned in years!

Yep, when Riley left, she took her cleaning lady with her. We’ll have to hire another one, in the meantime, since there’s no one else at home, Kelly will have to clean up this mess herself.

Kelly: Eww. I swear when I’m rich and famous, I’ll have a whole staff of helpers to clean up after me.

Meanwhile, on campus…

Sarah’s first exam is over, and she’s headed to the second.

She passed that one with flying colors; she has no doubt that she will pass the second one just as well.

Dale also did well on his first exam…

But he failed the second one! Oh, no, this can’t be!

Dale: How am I going to tell Kelly, and the rest of my family? They expected the best from me, and I’ve let them down.
Lauri, for her part, passed both her exams with good scores. She was there when Dale came out, but she didn’t comfort him since they still don’t speak to each other.

Seeing him so desolate makes her forget her pride and come closer to him.
Lauri: Oh, Dale, I’m really sorry… Is there anything I can do for you?
Dale: Thank you, but there’s anything you can do about it.

Sarah is out of her second exam, obviously everything went well for her with this one too. Now she’s going to wait for Lauri, as they both agreed to meet at the grocery store after the exams to go home together.

Dale is going home too, wondering how he’s going to tell Kelly that he failed one of his exams.
Dale: Kelly is going to be so mad at me, she’s going to say this all happened because I chose to hang out with the girls instead of staying home and studying.

Well, Kelly may not say anything… yet, as she left for her own exams a few minutes ago. She’ll hear about Dale’s failing grade another time. 😓
