Hidden Springs, 9 pm

It’s the night before the hearing at Town Hall. Tyron hasn’t had any work today, no sing-a-grams to deliver, so to take his mind off tomorrow, he’s gone to serenade Kayla.

After a good while of playing and singing under Kayla’s bedroom window, it is not she who has come out to have a look, but her mother, Farah.
Tyron: Oh, good evening, Mrs. Remington.
Farah: Good evening, Ty. Nice song, but I’m afraid Kayla can’t hear it, she stayed late at work.

Tyron: Really? Well then, I guess I’ll come back another day.
Farah: Oh no, keep playing if you like, it sounds very nice.
Robert: (Arriving) Yeah, Ty, keep going, your music is so good, and you have a great voice.
Tyron: Thank you, Mr. Remington. It is an honor coming from you.
Robert: It’s the truth, you are very talented, boy, keep it up, you’ll go far, you’ll see.

Robert walks on and enters the house; Farah stays outside a bit longer. Tyron gets nervous. Kayla’s parents are very important and busy people, why of all the nights they usually spend working or touring, did they decide to show up just today? 🙄

Farah: In fact, why don’t you have dinner with us while you wait for Kayla?
(Is it Ty’s impression or is Farah getting a little… flirty?)
Tyron: Uh, thank you Mrs. Remington, but I’d better go, I have an appointment early tomorrow.
Farah: Well, come over for dinner another day, my husband and I will be happy to have you as our guest.
Tyron: Thanks again, Mrs. Remington.

Farah: You’re welcome, I’ll tell Kayla you came. And I thank you on her behalf for the serenade.
Yeah, it was just him. Kayla’s mom wasn’t flirting, she was just being nice! Kayla has probably told her that they’re moving in together in Starlight Shores. He’s being paranoid, must be because of how lonely he feels, or because of the stress of the upcoming hearing.

On his way home, he thinks about Candice, lately she has hardly spoken to him. She’s been very moody and quiet. Tyron heard that it’s over between her and Jasper. He should be rejoicing about it, but what’s the point? His marriage is lost anyway, and Candice is still grieving for Jasper.

But Tyron is grieving for her, because even though he’s trying to make things with Kayla work, his heart still belongs to his soon to be ex-wife, and the knowledge that he’ll lose her forever hurts so much!

Candice was and continues to be the love of his life. It will be very hard to forget her.

Wait a minute, so if Jasper is now out of the picture, maybe he could win Candice back, make her forget about him, then the two of them could be happy again?

No. It’s too late for that. His move to Starlight Shores is underway, and Kayla will be moving in with him shortly after. He can’t just call everything off; not now that Kayla has given notice at her job and to her parents. Not after Terry moved heaven and earth to get him an attorney who will secure him custody of Brandi. What’s done is done; he must move on.
