We’re back to Hidden Springs, with the Cho-Barnard household. It’s the next morning, Tyron is waiting for Brandi’s babysitter to arrive so he can leave for work (Tyron, you should know better than to smoke around Brandi!) Anyway…

Candice is also leaving for work. Daytime because she changed her shift for today.

Brandi didn’t like the idea of either of her parents staying home with her.

Candice had to sneak out cause Brandi didn’t want to let her go. And that’s when the divorce hasn’t even proceeded yet! Maybe soon Brandi won’t even be able to see her mother on a daily basis like she does now.

Tyron had a little trouble getting her to calm down, it’s almost as if she knew something isn’t right. But Brandi isn’t a difficult child, she’s docile and calm, just like her dad. (Tyron is really the calmest of the Cho brothers).

Dana has just arrived, Tyron is giving him instructions; the main thing is that Brandi eats at her hours, takes her nap, and most importantly, she can’t leave the house with anyone, especially not Candice and Jasper.

Brandi got a new toy chest. Like I said, she’s not a difficult child, but she’s curious and is dying to see what’s in there.

This is not a very comfortable position but she should check thoroughly to see if there is anything of her liking to play with.

What is this, a boat? She was thinking of a doll, but this one isn’t so bad. Dad says they’ll have a boat one day, so maybe that’s why he included one in the box. Cool.

The boat looks entertaining enough for Brandi, as Tyron and Dana come to an agreement.
Tyron: I won’t be out long, I just have to deliver a few sing-a-grams, and I’ll be back by lunch time.
Dana: Don’t worry, Mr. Cho, I’ve got everything under control. Good, now Tyron can leave in peace.

A FEW MINUTES LATER, AT THE FESTIVAL GROUNDS…

Tyron had an unexpected encounter with Kayla, she looked quite angry.
Kayla: Well, you finally show up.
Tyron: Kayla? I’m sorry, were we supposed to meet again or something?
Kayla: No. It is clear to me now that it was just a one-night stand for you.

Kayla: But you could have at least taken the courtesy to clear it up for me yourself, Tyron.
Tyron: Was that even necessary?
Kayla: Of course it was, because I don’t want to waste my time for someone who doesn’t give a fig about me.
Tyron: Kayla, listen, it was not a one-night stand but, see I…

Kayla: Stop, I know what you’re gonna say. That you have a lot of problems with your marriage, you’re getting divorced and all that. It’s fine, and I’m not asking you for anything, you know, I just want you know where I stand, that’s all.
Tyron: And I get it, but – you just said you know my situation. It’s not good, Kay, I’m up to my neck with legal issues, like, you know, custody and stuff.

Kayla: You’re up to your neck, I get that. Still, I wouldn’t want to be just another complication in your life. I’m looking for a stable relationship, not just a fling. So I want to know once and for all what this meant to you. Was it just a game? cause if it was just that for you, it’s fine. I’ll leave it that way.

For a moment, Tyron is speechless before Kayla’s questions. Perhaps because he saw Grandmother Tanya walking by in the distance, and he doesn’t want to get caught up in any scandal. Truth be told, he really likes Kayla, but he’s got a lot on his plate right now.
Kayla: Really, Ty? You’re just going to stand there and not say anything? All right, then I’ll just…

Tyron didn’t let her go on and stopped her with a kiss. They’re in the middle of a super public place but – who cares? Kayla’s anger goes away immediately, and she reciprocates the smooch, a short one, that’s for sure, cause this is definitely not the time or the place, but whatever.

Tyron: Sorry, I shouldn’t have done that.
Kayla: Why not? We both wanted to.
Tyron: I meant I shouldn’t have interrupted you. Now, listen, I like you, Kay, I really do.
Kayla: Is that it? You just ‘like me’ or…?
Tyron: I like you, and I want something serious with you, but it’s gonna have to wait.
Kayla: You mean, until you get divorced?

Tyron: It’s not just the divorce, it’s also Brandi’s custody trial, I don’t think it’s going to be easy.
Kayla: Come on, Ty, I’m sure the judges will give custody to you. For obvious reasons.
Tyron: Yeah, me too. But if I get it, then nothing will tie me to Hidden Springs anymore.
Kayla: (Gloomily) So it’s a done deal, you’re moving to Starlight Shores.
Tyron: Yeah, I’m sorry, but I can’t be the local starlet forever and I can’t advance my career here.

Tyron: There aren’t even enough venues to sing in. Besides, everyone knows that all the action for a singer happens at Starlight Shores. Only there will I meet the right people with the right venues.
Kayla: Yeah, I guess if you wanna really make it these days you gotta go where the limelight is.
Tyron: That’s right.

Tyron: So if I’m given the custody, I won’t wait, I’ll move out right away.
Kayla: And you’ll get it for sure, so I won’t see you anymore.
Tyron: Well, maybe you could travel there once in a while. Or better yet, you could come with me. If you want to, of course. And if it’s not a problem for your career.
Kayla: It wouldn’t be, on the contrary, I think there would be much more scope for an Architectural Designer there, and…

Kayla: Wait, did you say, ‘you could come with me’?
Tyron: Yeah.
Kayla: You mean as a guest, a roomie or…?
Tyron: What I meant is we could move in together.
Kayla: Together? As in a couple?

Tyron: Yes, but only if you want to. Now, keep in mind I still don’t know where I’m going to live, or if I’ll be able to sustain myself there. We might be a little cramped at first, but maybe if we both work and you help with the bills, we could…

Now it’s Kayla who interrupts him with a kiss, again not caring that they’re in the middle of the Spring Festival. Tyron doesn’t know if it’s too soon to ask Kayla to share his life when it’s still in chaos, but they say one devil drives out another, maybe starting something with Kayla is the easiest way to move on and forget about Candice once and for all.

Kayla’s response to Tyron’s unexpected invitation was not a resounding yes, though. She’s asked him for time to think about it. She wants to be sure that they do have a future together. Also, in case she accepts, she won’t be able to move in right away, she’ll have to settle her work obligations and notify her parents ahead of time. As she walks away, Tyron’s phone rings; that must be his next Sing-a-gram client.

And… today’s Sing-a-gram goes to Gywneth Dipperson! Jasper’s cousin. Again. Just great.
Tyron: (To himself) Yeah, one of the things I’ll finally get rid of when I leave Hidden Springs is bumping into members of the Goth family all the time…
Wait, Grandma Tanya is still there! Did she see him with Kayla? If she did, that’s okay, he’ll explain to her later. He’s sure she’ll understand. And so will Mom, and the rest of the family, hopefully.
