ABOUT ONE HOUR LATER…

Davy is just waking up from his nap. Luckily, Jason is around. Cynthia is no longer, because she left for the spa after talking to Terence about the incident with Davy at breakfast.

Terry always says actions do have consequences….

And today Davy may have to face the consequences of his own.

Davy: Daddy!
Terence: Hi, little buddy, how are you? Not so hot, I guess, according to your mother.
Davy: Mommy?
Terence: Yeah, she says you threw two bowls of oatmeal on the floor, is that true, Davy?

Davy: Mommy no give Lucky Charms.
Terence: No, because that’s not breakfast. Plus, you were rude to her. See, we don’t annoy mommy. If you annoy mommy, I annoy you, and I’m telling you, I can be very annoying.
Davy: *Giggles*
Terence: No, don’t laugh, Davy. Trust me, you don’t wanna be annoyed by me.

It’s difficult for Terence to discipline Davy, first because the kid is naughty as hell, but so darn charming at the same time! Second, because, though Terence uses violence in some aspects of his life, it’s not an option with Davy for him. He may not be the kindest person in the world, but if there’s one thing he wants to be good at, that’s being a father.
LATER THAT EVENING…

Terence: So, Davy, what did we agree on?
Davy: Daddy annoying.
Terence: Uh – yes, I am, so what is it we don’t do?
Davy: No annoy mommy.
Terence: Right. We don’t annoy her, ever, under any circumstances. And we do not throw food. Say it.
Davy: No throw food.

Davy: Want Lucky Chams.
Terence: You’ll get some tomorrow, if you eat your oatmeal and fruit. That’s the deal. And deals are honored, get it?
Davy: *Nods*.
Terence: That’s my boy. Now go to sleep, sweetie.

Today’s lesson ends with a goodnight kiss, but as usual, Davy isn’t ready to say goodnight yet.

Davy: Daddy, no go.
Terence: I’m sorry, honey, but daddy has to go to work.
Davy: Nooo, I scared.
Terence: Scared? No way, Davy, we Cho men aren’t afraid of anything.

Terence: Besides, there’s nothing to be scared of. Daddy’s here, close to you, and he’ll kick the a… the butt of anyone who tries to hurt you. So sleep tight, honey. Daddy’s watching over you. Always.

It seems that Terry’s words were enough to chase Davy’s fears away and put him into a deep and peaceful sleep.

“Daddy’s watching over you. Always”. Best lullaby ever.
