Lucky Palms, 7 am…

Cynthia is on her way home from work, last night wasn’t very fruitful, but it still feels good to be back in business.

Yeah, back home, and straight to take care of little Davy. Jason, the babysitter, will not arrive until later, so Cynthia gets the most difficult time with her son: breakfast time.

Cynthia: Here you go honey, I made you some oatmeal today, I hope you like it.
Davy: Lucky cham?
Cynthia: No honey, you have to eat something nutritious, it’s daddy’s orders.

Davy: Oameal ew, want lucky cham!
Cynthia: Davy, please don’t…

Cynthia: Davy, that was incredibly rude!

Davy: No! No rude, I no like!
Cynthia: Ok, I hear you, but that doesn’t mean you get to waste food. We don’t waste food in this house, young man.

Cynthia: I’ll give you another chance. Here, at least give it a try. ¿Okay?
Davy: ‘Kay.

‘Give it a try’ for Davy implies many things, for example, testing the nature of the matter contained in the bowl with his own hand.

The results of his analysis show that oatmeal is extremely sticky, therefore, not acceptable.

Davy: Oatmeal no good! Want lucky cham!
Cynthia: You may have your Lucky Charms after you eat this, deal?

Cynthia: Davy, please don’t. Don’t you dare, I’m warning you, Davy…

It is clear that Davy did not care for their deal, or his mother’s warnings.

And the highly nutritious oatmeal ends up on the floor along with another broken bowl.
Cynthia: *Sigh*.

Cynthia: Okay, Davy, I’m very sorry but your father will know about this.
Davy: Daddy?
Cynthia: Yes, he’ll address you about it later, now come on over, we have to clean your chair.

Davy: Daddy! Where daddy?
Cynthia: He’s sleeping now because he worked hard last night, but he’ll be with us in a bit.

Cynthia: I don’t think he’s gonna like what you did, so I’d get ready if I were you.
Davy: I love daddy.
Cynthia: I know, so do I.

Well, that was all breakfast for today. Maybe Jason will manage to convince Davy to eat later.

Davy: Mommy, play.
Cynthia: Of course we’ll play, but first I’m going to clean your chair, so sit here quietly while I come back, okay?

Davy of course didn’t sit still and decided to go exploring around the house.

This is basically Cynthia’s morning routine, struggling to get Davy to eat things he doesn’t like. Is it necessary to force him? Cynthia’s vote: No. Terence’s vote: Yes, and it’s non-negotiable. Well, he needs to know what’s been happening cause she can’t take it anymore. 😓
