Lucky Palms, 7 pm.

Terry also leaves home, although a little later than Cynthia, since the casino does not open until dusk.

With both his parents out, Davy is left alone with his nanny, Deanne, and Cindy, the daughter of Brandon Langerak, Terence’s right-hand man, who has come to lend his support. Davy, of course, is not happy with the situation.
Davy: Mommy, daddy, mommy, daddy!

Deanne: Ugh, can you make him stop, he’s splitting my eardrums!
Cindy: Why me? You’re the actual babysitter here, I’m just a backup.
Deanne: Exactly, and it’s your turn.
Davy: Mommy, I want mommy!

Cindy: Mommy and Daddy are out, but – How about a flash card game?
Davy: NO.

Deanne: I’m afraid he will continue that way for the rest of the night.
Cindy: Okay, leave it to me, I have experience in this, because of my little brother.

It seems that Cindy’s expertise didn’t help much.
Cindy: Grr, Davy, I’ve told you a thousand times that mommy isn’t home, why can’t you understand that?

Davy: *Ignores her*. Cindy: Fine, ignore me if you want, but your mom is out, and she won’t come back anytime soon, so deal with it!

Davy: Daddy?
Cindy: Your dad is out too. He’s out working his butt off so he can give you anything you want and keep making you the spoiled little brat you are.
Deanne: Come on, Cindy, that’s no way to talk to a little boy. Let me try, I got this.

Cindy: Suit yourself.
Deanne: Hey, Davy, do you want to watch a movie? How about The Lion King?
Davy: Yeah. Lion King!
Cindy: The Lion King? Don’t you guys have something more recent?
Deanne: Oh, there’s a whole film library here, but that is Davy’s favorite.
Cindy: Really? Wow.

Davy has calmed down for the moment, but Deanne already knows fifteen minutes of the Lion King will be the most he’ll take, and then they’re back to square one. So this is going to be a long evening.
