Allan: So, what did you want to talk to me about?
Zoe: You know what.
Allan: Zoe, if this is about my work, I already told you….
Zoe: Not about your work.

Zoe: Okay, yes, it has to do with your job, and with our vacation, cause I think you owe me.
Allan: I know, and I told you we’d schedule a new vacation.
Zoe: To cancel it again? No, Al, we’ll have to do what we can with what we have.
Allan: What exactly do you mean?

Zoe: I mean, if we can’t have a proper vacation, why not take advantage of the little time we have together. I know the shooting starts in an hour, so that’s plenty of time.
Allan: Enough time for what…? Oh, I see. Then you’re not angry with me anymore?
Zoe: A little bit, but I choose to be understanding and save our marriage somehow. So, what do you say?

Allan: I say that’s a lovely idea, but why not wait until I return from the studios, then we’ll have a lot more time to spend together.
Zoe: Really? Cause every time you go away on a shoot I don’t see you again for days.
Allan: That won’t happen this time, trust me, please.
Zeke waits, holding his breath for a supportive response from his mother.
(Well, Zeke, buddy, you better not hold your breath on this, literally).

Zoe: I don’t know whether to trust you, knowing that Fabian is gonna be your co-star.
Allan: (Sighs and lowers his voice). So that’s what this is about? Fabian, not my work?
Zoe: It’s about both.
Allan: (Lowers his voice even more) Do you think we could talk about this, uh, particular topic another time and not in front of the kids?

Uh, oh, looks like some grown-up talk is coming, so Zeke goes ahead and makes his retreat.
Zoe: Ok, if you prefer, we can go to the bedroom to discuss it.
Allan: Come on, babe, if we go to the bedroom the last thing we’re going to do is “discuss”.
Zoe: Then let’s get back to Plan A and make the most of our time.
Lukas: Oh, no, here they go… Yep, definitely adult talk, Zeke is out.

Allan: So you have truly forgiven me.
Zoe: Not entirely, but you can fix that, can’t you?
Allan: Sure, it’s just…
Zoe: What? You don’t think it’s a good idea? Or you don’t want to spend time with me anymore? Is that it?
(Those are all tricky questions; Allan must think very carefully about his answer so as not to get into deeper trouble).

So he chooses not to answer with words.

Zoe: (Giggling) Allan, stop it, the kids are here!
Allan: The kids left, plus we’re not doing anything inappropriate, are we?
Lukas: If you say so… And I’m not a kid anymore, but I’m still here, you know.

Lukas’ sudden intervention makes Allan pull away.
Zoe: I told you they were here.
Allan: Okay, let’s go to the bedroom, so we can, er, discuss this in private.
Zoe: Okay.

Zoe seems satisfied, Allan not so much, he doesn’t want to be late to the studios on his very first day after his break, but he doesn’t want to be neglectful of Zoe either.

Losing her a second time is not an option. Without her his life would fall into total chaos again; at least she keeps him on his toes, brings him back to reality every once in a while.

Yeah, the shooting will have to wait, anything for his beautiful and beloved wife’s peace of mind.
How much longer can Allan hold this situation, putting his own well-being after the others’. Does he have what it takes to stay sober and keep his family and, most of all, his marriage together? We will see.
