Home already, phew! It’s been a long day. The day he’ll try to meet Jun again.

She promised to send him her location, but he hasn’t received a text from her yet. Will she end up canceling their date because of the snow? Please let it not be that. Pat is really looking forward to seeing her.

Pat’s phone is ringing, it’s not a text but an incoming call. He hopes it is Jun.

Patrick: Hello, Jun?
Female voice: No, darling, it’s not Jun, it’s me, Lady Cook.
Lady Cook, it’s the boss’s wife. What can she possibly want? Pat doesn’t have time for this, but if you value your job at all, you don’t cut the boss’s wife off.

Patrick: Uh, excuse me, ma’am, what can I do for you?
Lady Cook: Oh, please, Pat, no ‘ma’am’, call me just Lady.
Of course he’s not going to call Mrs. Cook by her first name. Not if he wants to make it to election day.
Patrick: Erm, thank you for the confidence you place in me. Now, what I can do for you, ma’… Mrs. Cook?

What Mrs. Cook wanted was to ask Patrick out on a date! Can you believe it? Pat’s answer of course is no. Sure he has to be careful when declining; he needs to come up with a believable excuse.

What better excuse than a sudden allergy attack. Pat has never had allergies in his life, but saying he’s in bed with hay fever was the only thing he could come up with. He had to fake a sneeze or two, mind you, but Lady Cook bought it, and Pat was spared for now.

Just minutes after Mrs. Cook’s call, Pat got the text from Jun that he was waiting for. She sent him her location too, so he’s going to meet her right now. Hopefully it won’t be another failed date like the one at Waylon’s!
