Bridgeport, early morning hours.

Patrick’s alarm clock goes off at 5 am, the night has flown, and it’s so dark it doesn’t even feel like it’s daytime already.

Anyway, he goes straight to the kitchen, he’s starving because with all the drama of last night’s meeting, he went to bed without having any supper.

But for now a few pancakes are enough to appease his appetite.

Now to do the dishes, then straight to the shower and off to the gym. Yep, in that order.

At the gym door Patrick meets Katrina Pala, an old friend of Jun’s.

Who already heard he and Jun had a fight and doesn’t hesitate to complain to him. As if it was his fault! Patrick is definitely not in the mood.

So he doesn’t hesitate either to defend himself.
Patrick: Look, why don’t you complain to Jun, or to her friend Ace, who caused all this, by the way?
Katrina: Her friend Ace? I thought he was your friend.
Patrick: He was. Not anymore.

Katrina: Not anymore, why?
Like I said before, Pat is not in the mood, but he still tells Katrina the whole incident in detail; he doesn’t want there to be any misunderstandings. (Hanna Smyth, Katrina’s niece, is of course there for the gossip).

Patrick: As you can see, it was all Ace’s doing. As for Jun, I didn’t talk to her last night because it’s never good to deal with any issues when you’re upset.
Patrick has a way with words due to his high charisma skilss, so Katrina immediately agrees and takes his side. Isn’t charisma skill useful? 😉
(Hanna doesn’t agree, though; or is it just the gossip didn’t turn out as juicy as she expected).

Katrina: You’re absolutely right. Seeing it that way, I think it was better to wait to talk things over calmly. Sorry for the abruptness, and I really hope you and Jun get things sorted out, you guys make a lovely couple.
Patrick: Thank you, Katrina, and excuse me if I was rude in any way.
Katrina: Oh, we’re good, don’t worry about it. Well, it was nice to see you.
Patrick: It was nice to see you too.

Phew! Well, at least that didn’t escalate.

Patrick had a productive day at the gym.

And also at work. No promotion today, but the morning at the office went smoothly.
