Zoe: Lukas, why are you having breakfast in your sisters’ room?

Zoe: Well, there really isn’t anyone, everyone had breakfast already, but…. Is something wrong?

Kennedy: Well, you’ll have to tell him about your feelings, or you’ll never know if you’re reciprocated. Maybe like you, he’s afraid to admit that, you know, he likes boys too.
Lukas: Yeah, I’m not worried about what he might say, I’m worried about how mom and dad will react if they ever find out.

Kennedy: Well, sooner or later you’ll have to talk to them about it.
Lukas: Yeah, maybe I should talk to them right now.
Kennedy: Wait, I don’t think they’re ready to know, better talk to Lucas first!

Lukas: ‘They’re not ready to know’, exactly. And what would be the point of telling my parents if Lucas isn’t interested in me? Kennedy is right, I’ll have to talk to him first. if he’s not into me, I’ll go ahead and ask Molly Prescott out.

Anika is trying to study but she can’t stop thinking of Alexander. If he asked her dad for permission to take her out, he’s sure to invite her this weekend. She can hardly wait!

Zoe: Anika?
Anika: Yes, mom?
Zoe: You know, I couldn’t help overhearing the conversation you had with your dad.
Anika: Oh, so you already know.
Zoe: Yeah, and actually, I’m a little worried because…
Anika: Yes, I know. You hate Alexander’s mom because she slept with my dad.

Anika: That dad and Bella Goth had an affair? Please, Mom, it was all over the tabloids and social media at the time, including Social Bunny.
Zoe: But you were just a little girl!
Anika: Yes, and a celebrity’s daughter too.
Zoe: Still, you shouldn’t be reading those.
Anika: I didn’t, at first. But everyone at school was talking about it; that’s how Lukas, Kenny and I found out. And before you ask… Yes, Alex knows about it too.

Zoe: Really? And how did he take it?
Anika: Well, he was mad at his mom for a while, but in the end, he chose not to judge her, and I don’t judge dad either. Besides, what happened between them is already in the past. And it has nothing to do with Alex and me, right?
Zoe: Yes, that’s true. Your dad and I have put that behind us too. *Sigh*. Anyway, all the best to you and Alex.
