After their little encounter in the bedroom, Dale and Kelly got hungry so they went in search of something to eat. He chose salad, Kelly some cereal, and Lauri joined them with some bread and jam. Sarah was very tired after studying all afternoon, so she went to take a relaxing bath.

Dale: *To Lauri*. Sarah told me you’re thinking of going with her to Lucky Palms?
Lauri: M-hm. Dale: Well, I honestly don’t recommend it. Lucky Palms is not a town for two girls to live in alone.
Kelly: Come on, Dale…
Lauri: *Munches nervously*.

Lauri: Sarah says we’ll be fine; besides, I’m not going to work with Terence, but with his associate, Jaycen.
Dale: Jaycen or Terry, it’s exactly the same, they’re together in the casino business.
Kelly: Dale, give him a break, okay? She’s of age now, it’s her decision.
Dale: I think it’s more Sarah’s decision, she talked you into going, didn’t she Lauri?

Lauri stops chewing for a moment.
Lauri: It wasn’t Sarah’s decision, I decided to go there myself.
(To get away from Dale, no less, but she can’t say that to him, can she? Especially not in front of Kelly).
Dale: I still think it’s a terrible idea. Lucky Palms isn’t a city for two girls to live alone. You guys shouldn’t…
Kelly: Dale, leave her alone, honey, you’re not her father, or her brother, or… whatever.

Kelly is tired of this conversation, so she gets up to wash her dish, but as she walks in…
Kelly: Oops, sorry Sarah, I didn’t know you were…
Sarah: Relax girl, it’s not the first time I’ve been in a bathroom alone and naked with a gorgeous roommate.
Kelly: O-kay, then while I’m here, I wanted to thank you for your support earlier.
Sarah: You mean the support that ended up as usual, with you and Dale… you know?
Kelly: Yeah, that one. I know it seems like it didn’t do any good, but it did, so… well, thank you.
Sarah: Well, you’re welcome.

Meanwhile, in the dining room…
Dale: Are you going to Lucky Palms because you want to, or because Sarah wants you to?
Lauri: A little of both.
Dale: I don’t get it, when I first met you you struck me as an independent girl who thought for herself, not someone who lets herself be influenced by others.
Lauri: Then clearly you don’t know me well, and… you haven’t taken the time to do so either.
Dale: What is that supposed to mean?
Lauri: *Clears throat* Never mind, it’s… not important. Now if you excuse me, I have to go wash my dish.

Dale: Lauri, come back here, we’re not done talking!
Lauri: Sorry, it’ll have to be later, I have tons to study!
Lies. It’s just that the more Dale cares about her, the more charming she finds him; she had to get out of there at once or the blush on her cheeks would end up giving her away.
Lauri: *To herself*. I hope Kelly appreciates what she has. Damn, she’s so, so lucky… *Breaths deep*. Anyway, what the heck happened to the sink? I guess it’s the result of washing the dishes in here, I’d better call the repairman now.
