Call it fate if you want, but that same night, after dropping Jun off safely at home, Patrick ran into Tiara on the street.

Without hesitating, he expressed to her his admiration and the great desire he had always had to meet her, which made Tiara feel extremely flattered.

Then Pat told her he worked in politics, and how difficult it was to move up in that field; he also told her that his boss was Jeffrey Cook, a member of the city council, and mentioned as well that he had started a promising friendship with the Triple Agent, Romeo Rake. You know, a little name dropping never goes amiss. 😉

Anyway, it was already dawn and Tiara was tired, but Pat seemed like a nice and respectful guy, so why not help him out?

Tiara: I do know Romeo, our Bridgeport ‘super cop’; and Jeffrey, your boss, too, I’ve been a special guest at some of his most successful fundraisers.

Tiara: See, Patrick, it’s an odd time to talk business, and it’s my press office that handles my PR, but you seem like a hard-working guy, so I’ll make an exception and phone Jeff Cook today to tell him about you. Patrick: Seriously? Would you do that for me? Tiara: Of course, hon, just give me your number. Patrick: Sure.

Patrick: ¡Yes!

Patrick leaves full of optimism. He never expected such a good response from Tiara Angelista. Patrick: Yeah, I‘ll finally stop being a dumb ballot counter, the big world of politics awaits me. I just hope Jun doesn’t get mad when I tell her.

It is broad daylight when Patrick boards his car to return home.

The city is still asleep, there’s not a soul on the streets, but he doesn’t even notice.

It’s a nice sunrise, and even nicer after what just happened to him, it all seems like a dream, but it’s not.

Arriving home. Today is not a workday but he promised Jun that they would go out again in the afternoon. He won’t get much sleep, but it’s well worth it after meeting Tiaria, his saving angel… if she really makes that phone call, that is.
