Kelly is home from school, she hopes Dale has prepared a nice meal because she’s starving, but – where is he?

Dale is downstairs finishing up his business presentation for tomorrow. He’ll be right up to make dinner for the girls, since he can’t expect them to prepare anything for themselves other than cereal or sandwiches.

Kelly finds Sarah alone in the kitchen, so she takes the opportunity to talk to her.
Kelly: Dale told me that Terry offered you a job, I suppose you don’t plan on taking it.
Sarah: You’re assuming wrong. I understand that Terence Cho is not your cup of tea, but if the pay is good, of course I’ll accept.
Kelly: Don’t do it. Terry is a nutcase, and you’re crazy too if you agree to work with him.

Sarah immediately snapped.
Sarah: Why? Cause you say so? Just because you don’t like Terence doesn’t mean I can’t accept this opportunity. I am not a rich boy’s girlfriend or have a boyfriend at all! I gotta make a living somehow, you know. I don’t depend on any guy to support me, I’m my own person, so whether or not I accept the job, whoever it comes from, it’s ultimately my choice!
Kelly: Hey, easy, girl, I didn’t mean to offend.

Kelly: You’re right, it’s your choice, and I apologize for butting in. But I want to clarify one thing: I don’t have a rich boyfriend either. Just because Dale has some famous relatives, doesn’t make him a rich kid. Plus, I would never let him, or any man keep me, me cause I am and always will be my own person too, okay?
Sarah: *Grumbling*. Okay.
Kelly: Okay, now, one thing is true, I can’t stand Terry, he’s a jerk, a pain in the ass, and probably won’t be the best boss for you.

Sarah: Meh, I know Terence is a d*ck. And yes, I’ve heard he’s evil, but he sounds like a clever guy, and he’s loaded with money, so he’s sure to pay well.
Kelly: Wow, I didn’t know you were that interested in money.
Sarah: Aren’t we all? *Chuckles*. Also, Lucky Palms sounds appealing, especially the casino with all those gambling machines… Oh, and Terry’s wife is smoking hot.

Sarah’s last comment threw Kelly, who suddenly got very quiet.
Sarah: What’s wrong, did I disappoint you with what I said about the money?
Kelly: No, not in the least. In fact, I’m glad to know you have some ambition.
Sarah: Then why were you suddenly so quiet?
Kelly: Ah, don’t worry, it’s not about you. Anyway, good luck in Lucky Palms if you decide to go. I just hope I don’t have to.
