But right the next morning, Dale is not looking very peaceful, something seems to be bothering him.

Kelly can tell something isn’t right with him cause Dale never gets up that early if he doesn’t have class first thing in the morning, but she didn’t ask him anything, because she doesn’t want to pry.

Dale isn’t exactly worried, just a little uneasy about a message he got from his brother Terence during the wee hours of the morning, telling him that Riley Woods moved to Lucky Palms and went to his house to ask him for a job. Why on earth would Riley ask Terry a job? Terence briefly explained to him about a fight Riley had had with her dad.

When Kelly finally decided to ask him why he was so pensive, Dale told her what little Terry had said in his message. Kelly didn’t seem too impressed.
Kelly: Wow, no wonder Riley and Terence ended up meeting, they’re two of a kind, you know. But Riley asking for a job? Now that’s news.
Dale: Yeah, that was a shock to me too.

Kelly: Did your brother tell you why that spoiled brat would want to work?
Dale: Well, apparently, Riley had a fight with her father, because Mr. Woods refused to give her any more money unless she meets a couple conditions.
Kelly: What conditions?
Dale: One is to go back to college, cause she dropped out; the other one’s still a secret.
Kelly: Really? And what do you think it could be?

Dale: I don’t know, and frankly, I don’t care; but I remember Sarah tried to tell me something about Riley at the end of last semester, before we went home. In the end she couldn’t because Riley walked in at that moment. Now I wonder if she was going to tell me about that ‘secret condition’.
Kelly: Does Terence have a way to find out what it can be?
Dale: Yeah, Riley told him she’d tell him some other time, privately, on date of sorts.

Kelly: *Chuckles*. Terry and Riley on a date? Wow, that one I didn’t see coming. But, like I said, they’re two of a kind, so… *Shrugs*
The bedroom door opened at that moment and Sarah and Lauri walked into the dining room.
Dale: *Lowering his voice*. It’s not that kind of date!
Kelly: You sure?
Dale: Yes. Now shh, Sarah is here, we’ll talk about this later.
