Riley’s apparent and exaggerated sweetness also disappears as soon as he enters Terence’s house.
Riley: Nice house, luxury all around, I wonder how you got it, through one of your ‘risky’ businesses?

Terence: That, sugar, is none of your concern. Now spill the beans, why are you here, so far from your rich girl comfort zone?
Riley: Ouch, that hurt, especially considering the reason I came to you in the first place.
Terence: I don’t have time for riddles, you know, cause unlike you, I do have to work, so spit it out already.

Riley: Okay, I wanted to talk about this calmly, in a nice coffeeshop or a bar, or over a good meal, but I see you’re in a hurry, and since you mentioned work… well, that’s exactly why I’m here.
Terence: To talk about work? *Chuckles*. I don’t know if you understand this, honey, but I only do business with other men, not with college girls.
Riley: That’s pretty sexist of you, you know. To think only men can engage in business, you’re out-of-date, darling, and you obviously don’t know about me.

Riley: Anyway, I’m not a ‘college girl’ anymore, cause I dropped out of the university.
Terence: Oh, did you?
Riley: Yeah, studying isn’t for me, and relax, I’m not here to do business, I came to ask you for a job.
Terence: You are asking me for a job?
Riley: Yes, at your casino.
Terence: And like why the daughter of a super real estate tycoon would want to work in a shady casino this side of the country. It’s not your scene, plus you obviously don’t need to work.

Riley: I do now, cause I left my father’s house.
Terence: Really? How come?
Riley: Dad and I had a huge fight, he wouldn’t budge, so I left, and I don’t plan to go back for a while.
Terence: The rich girl threw a tantrum and ran away from home. So what? Did he disown you or something? Did he cancel your credit cards? Took away your ‘allowance’?

At this point, Cynthia, who is nearby in the playroom, has noticed Riley’s visit and sharpens her ear to overhear the conversation between her and Terence.
Riley: He didn’t disown me… yet. But he was clear from the beginning, I won’t get another penny from him if I don’t meet his conditions.
Terence: And what conditions are those?
The acoustics aren’t good, but Cynthia can still hear Riley’s response.

Riley: One is finishing college, which I won’t; the other is a delicate matter, I can’t explain it here. Do you think we could go out some time to talk?
Terence: You mean, like on a date?
Riley: *Giggles*. If you want to call it that….
Terence: *Lively*. Okay, I don’t see why not.
Cynthia: *To herself*. A date? With my husband? Over my dead body, you sl*t!

Terence and Riley have gone out cause it’s time for him to leave for the Casino. Cynthia can’t listen to them anymore, but like hell she’ll let Terence date Riley, whatever she’s up to. 😠
