ST. JOHN’S UNIVERSITY, WEDNESDAY MORNING

Dale: Kel, where were you? When I got out of bed, you were gone.
Kelly: Sorry, I got a call very early for a modeling job, from the college magazine again.
Dale: Cool, but – yesterday you wanted to ask me something, may I know what it was?

Kelly: What I wanted to ask you was… Well, it was…
Sarah: Yes, I know I’m here again, but believe me, I won’t tell Lauri anything, you can speak freely.
Kelly: …

Dale: You heard her, she won’t say anything, so go ahead and ask.
Kelly: Er, no, I can’t. I’m sorry, Sarah, it’s nothing personal, it’s just… Aw, I feel so dumb now.
Sarah: Well, you are, a bit.

Dale: Sarah, please stop.
Kelly: You know what? Forget it, you told me there’s nothing to worry about, so I won’t.
Dale: Fine, cause there’s nothing going on between Lauri and me. Isn’t that so Sarah?
Sarah: Yep. I mean, Lauri does likes him a lot, but Cho promised to behave and be faithful to you. If he doesn’t deliver, just tell me, I’ll deal with him.
Kelly: *Chuckles*. Okay, thanks, I guess. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to get ready for class.

When Kelly turns around to get in the bathroom…
Sarah: *Whistles in awe*.
Dale: Wow, that is some hot outfit!

Kelly: If either of you say anything else about my outfit, I’ll come back and punch you in the face!
Dale: Oh, I didn’t say anything.
Sarah: I’m being very quiet.
Kelly: You better.

As she enters the bathroom, doubts slowly creep back into Kelly’s mind. What if Dale and Sarah are hiding something from her? What if he does like Lauri and just won’t accept it? When they first met, they hit it off right away, then he didn’t hesitate to invite her to be roommates at the dorm. Okay, Dale probably doesn’t like her, but if she does like him, maybe she’ll go out of her way to steal him away like Riley did?

That very thought brings tears to Kelly’s eyes. She can’t go through the same thing that she went through with Riley Woods, that was absolute hell!
Kelly: No. Lauri seems harmless, but she’s pretty and smart, and both Dale and Sarah like her, that’s a red flag, best not to let my guard down. I know I promised to be less jealous and toxic to Dale, and I will do my best, but I will not allow a repeat of Riley, that won’t happen again, not on my watch!
