To celebrate his triumph, and also to seal the deal he has made with Marion Crumplebottom, Tibald Culpepper proposes a toast.
(There’s always a toast in Allan’s films, but this time the production company made sure the glasses contained only water. They can’t afford to let him fall back into his addiction to alcohol).

Tibald starts to drink without delay; Marion hesitates before even taking a sip.

Tibald: What’s wrong, Marion, why don’t you drink? Do you refuse to seal our pact?
Marion: Excuse me, but how do I know you didn’t put poison in my glass?
Tibald: Poison? Nonsense! I said I would spare your life and I’m a man of my word.

Tibald: Your doubt offends me terribly, Miss Crumplebottom.
Marion: Oh, come on, cut the drama already. I’ll drink.

Tibald: See? You’re still alive so, will you honor our deal?
Marion: Yes, I’ll keep my word to never see Ubald again; I also hope never to have to see your horrible face again.
Tibald: Same to you, miss.
*Joyful music plays*
Director Sherrill: Cut!! That was sublime, guys. Thank you, dear Keira. Fabian, your turn on stage!
