It’s the early evening, the Wilson’s household prepares to celebrate Anika’s birthday.

Anika doesn’t seem too excited about it, birthdays cause her quite a bit of anxiety. Allan on the other hand, is very relaxed practicing with the piano, one of his newest hobbies.

Hours later, Anika is ready to blow out the candles on her delicious cake.

Time to make a birthday wish, what is she thinking?

Anika: What a birthday, with a bunch of unknown adults as guests, and my parents making a superhuman effort to pretend that everything is fine between them. If only…
(Yep, that’s what Anika was thinking).

At least Lukas is here, which encourages Anika to blow out the candles, whatever wish she made. Allan and Zoe seem to have dissociated for a second.

Anika: Okay, here I go…

Done. Anika knows her wish may never come true, but it was worth a try. Meanwhile, Lukas tries to figure out how the streamer shooter, or whatever it’s called, works.

Anika blew out the candles and is now going to look for a place to grow up, Lukas is still celebrating; Kennedy and Zeke are still nowhere to be seen, Zoe and Allan look worried, he even annoyed.

And he should be, in a few instants his little girl will become a teenager.
Allan: Oh, no, Anika will turn into a teen, all those pesky high school boys will want to date her – if I agree to it of course.
(Come on, Allan, don’t be selfish, you had your time, this is Anika’s life, dude). 😉

Anika: Mom, dad, I’m sorry, but I need to stop living in your shadow, and make my own life.
(Oh, Anika, just as dramatic as her dad😄).

A little late but Zeke finally made it to his sister’s birthday, just in time to see her grow up!
