The next morning…
Dale: Hi Sarah.
Sarah: Hi, Cho.
Dale: Hey, that’s Kelly’s laptop.
Sarah: I know.

Sarah: Don’t worry, I wasn’t looking at her ‘private’ stuff, and it’s password protected anyway.
Dale: We both know passwords aren’t a problem for you.
Sarah: Are you calling me a hacker?
Dale: Are you?

Sarah is unable to answer Dale’s question, because at the moment she closes the laptop, it begins to smoke.
Sarah: Uh-oh

Dale: Uh – did you just break Kelly’s computer?
Sarah: It wasn’t me. I didn’t even get to use it; I just closed it and then it started smoldering. Plus, she doesn’t need the laptop for a P.E. class.
Dale: Maybe, but I don’t think she’d be happy to find it like this.
Sarah: I’m telling you I didn’t do it.

Sarah made it clear to Dale that she had nothing to do with the laptop failure, but she promised Dale to pay for its repair if necessary. She’ll also be the one to give Kelly the bad news.
Sarah: (to herself) Knowing her temper, she ‘ll most likely be pissed. Heck, the week’s barely started and I’m in deep sh*t already.

Before telling Kelly what happened, Sarah has to get ready for school. She needs to go into the girls’ bathroom, but Lauri beats her to it. Kelly is on her way out and the two of them get stuck in the doorway, maybe this is the time to tell her what happened.
